For the purpose of supporting my healthly living efforts, I am starting this post to get you all helping me through this, a path I didn't plan for.

On Weds, I thought for sure I had a kidney stone (had one before). Turns out I was wrong -way wrong. I ended up in having a emergency surgery to remove an ovarian cyst that was twisted and strangled itself and the ovarian tube the cyst burst and also killed the ovary :( . The cyst, tube and ovary were removed by way of going through my c section scar that is belly button down. The pain was so bad so fast, I had no idea I even had a cyst! I lost a day to morphine and do not remember much.

This was a crazy thing to have happen. I just had a perfect pevic/pap exam 1 1/2 months ago. Thats how fast they grow!

I got home on Friday. I am in pain like never before. I had 2 C sections and never had this much pain. I am floored that I can't get up alone. I am on a recliner and have to be pushed to sitting, then pulled up. I am so NOT liking the thought of my summer being like this.

OK so here is what I need. I can't get to WW's for a couple weeks. I cant work out or walk for I dunno how long yet. :( So how do I not loose all my hard work so far? I was doing so awesome!! And I am so thankful that I was in such good shape going into surgery... it should help me recover faster right?

Anyone who has had surgery during your time of healthy change, please advise me anything you can. Any ideas appreciated from all.

My DH says, you have to heal, and then pick up where you were and not think about it any other way. He is an althlete and had many knee surgeries. I know he is right, but I am so afraid of gaining by sitting here and not moving. I don't want to make bad habbits!!

My DD also was doing all this with me, I sooo do not want her to lose all we have worked for. She also lost 17lbs so far!

Please keep me in line guys!!!

I saw your post over on the CB friday night so I posted a thread for you here, http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1545339 but it looks like the boards have been rather quiet this weekend.

I am glad you are home and sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Your DH is right, you really need time to let your body heal. Although you can't exercise, one thing you can do is watch what you eat. Enlist your DH and DD to help keep healthy snacks at the ready, stock that fridge and freezer with safe treats, don't use this as an excuse to eat whatever you want or you will go backwards. At least by eating right and not exercising or moving much you will minimize the slide. Journal what you eat if you aren't already doing so, it will help pass the time. And if you can stop by here often to get your daily dose of support.

Many wishes for a speedy recovery!!

Don't worry about losing strength, muscle tone, etc. You won't lose it that fast! Also, remember that you already know so much about how to do the right thing, you won't EVER start at square one, again!! Hang in, walk around the house as much as possible, this really helps the healing process. You should be back doing some easy stuff in the next week or two. Wishing you a speedy, happy recovery!:grouphug:

I am so sorry to hear about your surgery. Your husband is right, you need time to heal. Once you are feeling better, you can slowly ease back into exercise. Tiggerlover is right, enlist your family's help to keep you on track with your eating.

If you continue to have this intense pain, I think you should call your doctor. Your pain meds may need to be adjusted.

Take care of yourself, and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi Miss Missy :wave2:

I don't have any real advice, I've only been eating healthier and losing weight for the last couple of months, but I wanted to wish you well on your recovery and to say "Hang in there!!" I hope you're feeling better and will be up and around a little, soon. :)

Thanks everyone! I had a very bad day today. I feel like its getting more painful not less. I cant move the wrong way or the pain stabs in my side. Its awful! I am already sick of relying on DD and DH so much, I get stuck in the chair and have to get help, I cant even get out of it alone. This is the pitts! BUT I know I have to suck it up and learn to ask for help. It cant be too much longer that I need so much, right?

I am eating good, but not a lot. I HAVE to eat to take a pain pill or I will be ill. They want me to take 1 pill every 4-6 hrs but NO WAY, I can only handle a 1/4, then another 1/4 an hr later. I just cant throw up with this belly!!! I have only used 3 pills since Friday... so I see that is why I am in so much pain. I just took the 2 1/4's closer together and I am all hot and like... ick. Stinks!!!

So ya, for food, great idea. Of course DH went out and got me ice cream day 1- "a treat", I wanted to cry! I explained he can get me WW smart one ice cream treats, but please no no real ice cream for me. He just doesn't get the way I eat as well as I'd like. But I guess I better keep on him, its up to me.

I was so bad today, I couldn't talk on the phone, go on laptop, nothing.. but sleep and cry. I guess I will pay more attention to what helps and all that.

Tomorrow, DD 13 is on duty, DH is going back to work. I so hope she doesnt sleep late and leave me stuck in my chair :scared1: She like myself, is a sleeper!

Thanks for the vent, I see this will be a good place for me to yack and whine :thumbsup2

K, Disney trip 78 days!!! I so got to keep that in mind!!!!!!!!!

Hi Miss Missy,

Sending hugs and hopes for a quick recovery. Let your body heal, give it time and you will be rewarded for it. If you try and do to much, you may hurt your recovery and prolong it. It is OK, take care of you! As far as your pain meds go, ask your MD if you can have a different kind. I had percocets prescribed for me after my wisdom teeth came out and I HATED it, I was so sick to my stomach that I wouldn't take any. From then on, I asked for something different. AFter my labor and delivery I told my Docs right up front to prescribe something else because I would refuse to take percocet. WHat I got worked wonders and helped me, without making me sick. Just an idea, but maybe a different pain med might help you feel better.

Hang in there!:grouphug:

Awww, this does just stink. I'm so sorry that you are going through all this.

 WISHing you a most speedy recovery.

You are so brave and committed to being a healthier you. Don't give up, make those wise choices, but don't stress over this part just now--get better. This all is a temorary thing and you will get better and be on track.

I think you need to call the doc in the a.m. about those meds. The most important thing is to get something to get you over the edge of the pain and on the side of less pain. Your recovery will be the better for that.

Hi everyone!

Today is the first day I feel some improvements :thumbsup2 It is giving me hope that I will be OK in time.

I can sit up now and even shimmy my way to standing!! My headaches are not fun, but I am hoping they go away since I stopped taking pain meds. The pains meds were causing more problems than they helped. Now I am on the ibuprofen only. I did OK today with just that, so I hope that keeps working. Now how I get such a bad headache while on ibuprofen is beyond me!!! even tho it is a side effect of it, it makes no sense to me.

So I pray tomorrow is even better... and that I keep seeing more recovery

for you all who are healthy, enjoy it and savor every minute of the freedom that brings. Oh what I would give to be able to talk my daily walk, oh what I would give!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better! That's progress, and soon you'll feel even better, until you're at the point where you're no longer in any pain and can resume your normal activities.

YAY to you for hanging in there!!!! :cheer2: :yay:

Thanks! This trip means so much more now. It means I will feel like myself again by then and be able to enjoy something I so love WDW! :cool1:

I feel like the "I know I can, I know I can..." train LOL

He he, feel like I am doing a blog LOL.

I am getting better :cool1: :cool1: I cant stand long, but I can put around for a couple minutes now. I still have pain at the site of the surgery that is holding me back, but the incision is great. The skin on the area they worked on is numb, same place the pain is deep inside :confused3 weird!

I am feeling I may survive :woohoo: Thanks for all the support!

I am eating lots of fruit too!!
