I need suggestions for a sit down dinner at Epcot!!

In the last 6 months I ate at Biergarten & Coral Reef & really liked both! Entertainment at Biergarten was a nice change of pace, however, not everyone was adventurous with food, and at Coral Reef we really liked everything!

Not many mentions of Coral Reef. Not a favorite? We have reservations there but am worried that we should pick something else.

We ate at Biergarten last time and really enjoyed the atmosphere, entertainment and food.

One of our many favorites there is Tokyo Dining. Every time we've been there, the service has always been super friendly and excellent overall. Food has been consistently great for us as well. Our kids love it too and request it each year. One typically gets the sushi, other gets steak. The atmosphere is nice too....very quiet and overlooks world showcase.

That restaurant (coral reef) gets a lot of negative reviews but we really like it. We've been there twice during the last couple years and liked the atmosphere/food. Not our favorite but good.

For characters, I've heard the best things about Garden Grill, but I haven't gone yet. I personally love San Angel Inn. I just can't explain how yummy the food was.

Garden Grill is more of an American meat and potatoes place. Obviously Via Napoli is pizza and Italian food. Of the two Italian places, my family prefers Tutta Italia...

We loved San Angel Inn on our most recent trip - kids included! Akershus is a fave too, but you are looking to get away from that one. We used to like Le Cellier but haven't been since it became a 2 credit meal - not worth that on the Ddp imo. Coral Reef isn't bad either.

Via Napoli and Garden Grill were busts for our family.

We have never been to Coral Reef but have talked to friends that have. The general consensus is that the food is okay but the atmosphere is great.

Walk out the International Gate. Head to the Swan/Dolphin. Great food options, no need to decide 6 months in advance what you will want to eat, relaxing atmosphere.

My family loves Via Napoli; really good food, fun atmosphere, nice servers. We were very underwhelmed by Tutto Italia...ok food and indifferent service on a very slow day.

We also like San Angel Inn, though as has been pointed out, it's authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex and thus not to everyone's tastes. With the volcano and pyramid in the background, it has great atmosphere, and the boat ride you can take before or after is fun too, especially for kids.

Both Chefs de France and Coral Reef are on our 'we can go back' list...neither was amazing, but were enjoyable with good service and atmosphere. Coral Reef probably has the edge on atmosphere for kids.

I've never done Biergarten, but friends and family with kids have, and they've loved it. Haven't done Garden Grill, but have heard very good things about all meal services (breakfast through dinner)...it seems to be close the week we're going in December, as there is no availability at all this far out, which is highly unusual.

If you are a family of seafood lovers, you could always try to get an ADR for Cape May's buffet (in YC) at a time that would allow you to go back to Epcot for Illuminations. Cape May's nighttime buffet is really good, really plentiful, and my crab-leg loving cousins ate their weight in crab legs the last time we went. I think Dis lost money on our party that night we ate so much! The BC/YC resort is very close to the international gateway to Epcot, so that's an option to consider.

Good luck, and good eating!

My kids (and my husband and I) love Garden Grill! We also like Teppan Edo and Biergarten! We have eaten twice at San Angel, and we really wanted to like it, but it always came up short!

We have eaten at the Rose and Crown during Illuminations before. It was nice to be inside at the time because my kids were small and didn't like the sound of the fireworks, but since they were inside they felt safer I guess and they really enjoyed them! We enjoyed the food too!

We really like Via Napoli and Spice Road Table. Trattoria al Forno, on the Boardwalk right outside EP is also good.

This was going to be my suggestion, especially since it seems you're looking for someplace you can view Illuminations from. We ate at Tokyo Dining for the first time in January, not expecting much, and absolutely loved it. In addition to great food and service you get a lovely view of Illuminations from outside on their deck :goodvibes They do have some tables by the windows that you could see the fireworks from and I assume you can request a window table, but we didn't as we were fine going outside to watch. Our reservation was for 7:55 with Illuminations at 9.

We really enjoyed Via Napoli (even my Italian husband!). It was also very cost effective. We have 2 daughters (ages 4 and 7) who are not big eaters. We were able to order a large pizza for just over $30 and it was more than enough.

This is another reason i love via. Its budget friendly. Their pizza is honestly one of the best i've tried (i love the quattro fromaggi and pepperoni). Their pasta dishes are phenominal too, with Candele being my absolute fave. :goodvibes:

Rose and Crown is a great viewing spot (unless the wind is blowing 30 mph right towards you) as we always do our last night supper here. We have always gotten a table outside so maybe we are just lucky. The people that go to the viewing area from inside get great view as well so I wouldn't worry if I didn't get seated outside.

Seems we end up at Coral Reef almost every trip these past few years. It is tough competing with all the EPCOT restaurants (and even the Boardwalk). We really enjoy the food and love the atmosphere. It is great break from the heat of the late afternoon sun in the summer.

I hate to crash this thread, LOL, but I have been reading a ton of good feed back from people who have eaten at Via Napoli. I have a question about there...we have never eaten here before but my kids LOVE pizza. Anyways we will have the deluxe dining plan...we were originally planning to pay OOP instead of using the DxDP but after I calculated all the numbers the DP was only about $300 more than what we were paying OOP and that wasn't including drinks (soda and stuff for the adults), snacks, and the refillable mugs...also didn't include an app for pretty much everyone, lol, and I know my kids would like the carrots or apples for an app off the kids menu. Its weird bc my son who is 10 we are paying the adult prices for him, but I factored in kids meals for him bc he is a picky eater and even with the kids meals factored in we still didn't come out that far off, but I heard from another thread that they actually reduced the price of the deluxe plan. Anyways I am getting a little off topic...how does Via Napoli work with the deluxe dining plan? Could we all get the individual pizzas and that would be just 1 credit each? Each of us likes different type of pizza so it seems better if we all got our own instead of sharing 1 big pizza. Also how big are the individual pizza's on the adult menu? Do you still get an app and a desert with the meal? My family loves zepoles if we got them would they be considered for 1 person or 2? Also has anyone gotten their white pizza before? The 1 with just the different types of cheeses on it not with the broccoli or anything I am just wondering how was it? I love white pizza but I rarely get to eat it bc I am the only 1 in my family who likes it, LOL. Thanks for all the info in advance!

My Girls like Chefs de France. Mainly for the fancy carbonated lemonade and the one loves everything Paris.

We also like Tutto Italia. We've had great service there multiple times and the food was good.

We have both places booked on our upcoming trip.
