I need suggestions for a new camera. PLEASE HELP!

At present, I have a Kodak 35 mm, 12X optical zoom, 6.1 mega pixels point and shoot camera that has become more of a problem than its worth. I've had it for 3-4 years. I'm going out this weekend to purchase a new camera. I would like some suggestions and advice on what's good out

I would like a simple, easy to operate point and shoot type with as much zoom as possible. large, I think its called, LCD screen with the same mega pixels or more than I have now. So 6.1 or above. I take a lot of photographs. I don't want a tiny camera. I'm old school. I like a camera that looks like a camera. lol

Can anyone give me some good choices to look for? Thanks a bunch!
