Right now, I'm deployed in Afghanistan and me and my wife are planning a trip to WDW, hopefully in August. (You never know with military leave) Anyways, we're planning to have a vacation for a whole month there. We have Premium Annual Passports from Disney, and Orlando Flex Tickets for the rest of the parks. I'm trying to find other things to do in Orlando and I was wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction???

Thanks:tongue:

Outlet stores(Disney and Universal) You can get the same things that are in the parks for at least 1/2 price. Some of the things are dated but lots of times they have the same exact merch.

Lots of stuff to do on International Drive. Lots of Dinner Shows to go to also. Pirates Dinner Theatre,Arabian Knights, etc.

You didnot mention kids so assuming there are none you could go to City Walk at Universal and do the dinner and a movie thing or if you do night clubsa that is avail. also.

Our local paper had some interesting things in Orlando. One was Olrando by air, another was you go flying in some WWII trainers and you actually get to fly. They had links to sights in the paper, but the paper got tossed before I could write them down.

Someone also mentioned the dinner shows. My wife and I did the Medevil Times, and it was a lot of fun. If you have kids they would like that also.

Anyway, hope that gives you a some options. Be careful over in Afghanistan and hope you get back to the USA soon.

Here are some other suggestions:

visit each of the resorts
stroll along the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney
take an Illuminations Cruise (visit the theme park board and look for people who are wanting to share a cruise)
take a carriage ride or go fishing at Port Orleans Riverside or Fort Wilderness
Wide World of Sports- Buccaneers will probably be in training camp, DH went to see one of their open practices last July
Wet 'n Wild
Water Mania
SkyVenture (skydiving simulator)
Kennedy Space Center
Busch Gardens
Fantasy of Flight & Flying Tigers Warbird Restoration Museum
Wonder Works
Ripley's Believe It or Not
Richard Petty Driving Experience
Titanic Exhibition
Old Town rides
Skull Kingdom
Gatorland
Silver Springs
miniature golf
airboat or horseback rides
ride the trolley down I Drive
visit the different themed restaurants- Race Rock, Nascar cafe, Rainforest Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe, etc.

Thank you for serving our great country. Stay safe, and come home soon!
:D

Here is a second vote for Kennedy Space Center - about at 30 45 minute drive from Orlando.

Old Fashioned Airboat Rides in Christmas, FL. About 45 min east of Orlando. Check out their website!!!!

contact the Orlando Visitors Bureau. They will send you a map, site-seeing ideas and an OrlandoMagicCard good for discounts all around the Orlando area.
