My husband just rec'd the results from his MRI. Two more Schwanoma tumors! He has already had two removed over the last 3 years and the pain had returned to his right foot. The foot pain started at least 5 years ago but it took them a couple of years to find the first tumor, in his right calf. The pain remained, they did a couple more MRI's and they found another one on his sciatic nerve in his right, well, ummm cheek. The pain was gone for over a year but has returned to they did some more MRI's and found one in his left upper thigh and one on his S3 nerve under his coccyx (tailbone). Since these are both on his left side they can't be causing the pain in his right foot so they're going to do more MRI's, this time of his spine. He's growing tumors like the Irish grow potatoes! The good news is that they're not cancerous, but the bad news is well, the bad news is that it's more surgery, more bad scars (he gets keloids) and more hospital stays. And what if one is growing on his spine and they can't remove it? Arrrggghhh. This disease is so rare no one seems to know much about it, even his neuro surgeon. I'm scared and he's really scared. Anyone had to deal with this before? I feel so out of control right now!
