I need some objective feedback - MSP-MCO in May

I've been struggling with this all week.

Dates: Weds. May 11-Sun. May 15.

Would prefer to fly Delta for miles purposes (and that I'm not nickeled and dimed for seats and such), but am not married to it.

Want the 7am departure out of MSP and either the 9:30am or 12:05pm return out of MCO.

Flight prices have fluctuated crazily just in the past 3 days. It went from $389 roundtrip to $319 roundtrip to $359 roundtrip today.

I've been flying MSP-MCO for a long time. I know it's like watching the stock market.

I don't usually buy airfare this "close" to departure, but this is a last minute decision for me ~ a mom and daughter thing that I'd like to do.

Problem is I have only traveled to WDW in May once and it was almost a decade ago. I know what a good price is in October and early December. I don't know if that's the same thing for May. I'm not liking this over $300 thing, but for all I know, that's a deal for May.

I need someone with more experience at going at this time of year to give me some objective feedback. Do I jump on this $359 thing or let it ride for a bit?

Plane is a little over half full on the way down, but lots of space on the way home. And yes, I know I'm limiting myself by wanting to leave on those specific flights.

Appreciate any insight you care to offer.

I've flown to WDW for a May trip almost every year for the past 5-7 years. And I've done it as early as May 3 and returned as late as June 2nd. My advice is to wait. I've NEVER paid (including last May when I bought 45 days in advance at $289) more than $309 for the flight. And, I've booked closer to the travel than you are now. Keep an eye on Sun Country and watch Delta for reactions. I find that the Sun Country flights tend to be about $15 cheaper than Delta up to about 30 days prior in may. If they are an option, I would think about using them.

Incidentally, I am going to WDW in November this year and have never been in early Novemver. Does anyone have a good range that I can expect to pay? With Sun Country and SW yet to release fares for those dates the prices are over $400 for our preferred times (we are on the cruise and need to return after noon).

Thanks and best of luck!

$250 is my goal price. If it gets anywhere near there, I usually buy it as soon as I see it. Depending on the day of the week you fly and the time you want to leave, I've also regularly seen prices between $215 and $240 RT.

If all you are seeing is over $400, wait.

Awesome! Thank you! I've reset my kyak alerts so we'll be good now.
