IM LOOKING INTO BUYING INTO DVC BUT AM LOOKING FOR MORE INFORMATION, I.E. WHAT OTHER RESORTS BESIDES DISNEY RESORTS CAN I VISIT AND HOW MANY POINTS DO THEY "COST".
I KNOW THAT YOU CAN GO TO MEXICO AUSTALIA ETC BUT THATS ALL I KNOW, WHATS INVOLVED? IS THERE A LINK THAT I CAN GATHER ALL THIS INFO? TRYING TO CONVINCE DH. ALMOST THERE!!

Your best bet would be to contact a DVC guide and request their brochure on DVC. It has point charts, etc. in there and explains DVC pretty well.

hth :)

DVC has a simple chart for International Exchanges. While I don't have one in front of me, the maximum points needed for a 1BR is 160 and some locations/dates are significantly less. I think a 2BR is 270 max. This is for a 7 night stay at the II locations.

If you are primarily interested in exchanges, there are less costly timeshares available to gain that access, but it is a nice option for an occasional non-Disney vacation.

Enjoy!

I agree that you should contact DVC and get the information. There's no obligation and you won't be hounded by a sales person. You can also look at www.disneyvacationclub.com and, of course, keep asking questions here.

Doc has given you an idea of the costs for trading out full weeks. DVC recently simplified this into a chart, too. We can also trade for single nights (or more) at many luxury hotels such as The Plaza in New York City Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans, etc., etc. Points vary by property, type of room and time of year. They range from 15-80 points per night.

There are also adventure trips, like safaris, that run several hundred points per person.
