Hello, I'm new here and have some questions for all you Disney experts :)
My boyfriend and I are in the process of planning a Disney vacation for the end of August. I've been twice when I was younger & he's never been. I'm still in school so we're trying to save as much money as possible. The Stay, Play and Dine deal that Disney has going on now is going to be a big help but we have to book by this weekend so I was hoping that I could get some quick pointers on this board before we book.
I'm planning on booking us at either the All-Star Music or Pop Century resorts with 5-day park tickets and the free dining plan deal. Are there any other discounts I could make use of as far as Disney goes?
Also- the part that's the biggest problem is the airfare. We're in the Boston area and could fly from Boston, Providence, or Manchester NH easily. Does anyone have any pointers on where to find the cheapest plane tickets?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Kristen

WELCOME TO THE DIS BOARDS!

:welcome:

Because of the Free Dining, most all other discounts (AAA, AP) are VOID. The deal itself is WELL worth it!

HURRY I heard many rooms are gone for this deal.

For airfare check out Allegiant Airlines form Worchester MA. I have got 79.00 each way fares from Allentown PA in July from this airline.

Also in regards to airfares....post on the Transportation Board here.

Good Luck & Have a Great time.

You should be able to do well on Jet Blue out of Boston. FYI, Tuesday and Wednesday they usually have cheaper flights.

If you are having trouble coming up with all the money to pay off your package 45 days in advance, book your package with 1 day base tickets. Then you can upgrade your tickets once you get to Disney. That way you won't have to pay as much in advance, and you will have a little more time to save.

For checking airfare I love to use sidestep.com. It checks the fares on all major sites. You can D/L a plug in or just check from their webste.

One more question....
If we were to buy the one day tickets then upgrade when we get there like Shagley suggested, would we pay for a four day ticket once we get there or would we pay the difference between a five day and one day?
I was looking at the ticket pricing and if we were to buy a one day ticket then a four day ticket later, we'd spend more than if we just bought five day tickets to begin with. But if it's just the difference to upgrade to five days then that would be worth it.
How does that work?

I think I have the perfect answer for you regarding airfare. I have a favorite website that is not well-known - ITA Software.

So...type the URL "www.itasoftware.com"

In orange you will see "Looking for airfares?" - click on that.

When the screen comes up, login as guest.

Then type in your information like any other site. The great thing about this site is your ability to select "or any airport within X miles." THat saves so much time not having to type each individual airport in.

I have used this site before. When you find the flight you want, click on "booking details" and it will give you the airlines' phone number to book the flight. Very easy to do.

I hope this helps.

You pay the difference between a one day and 5 day ticket. Ask to upgrade your pass.
