I need some help, Change of plans...

Ok so originally me my DH our 1 yr old son and my parents were going to Disney in March 09. Well now my sister and her husband and there 4 kids want to tag along. And we would love to stay together.

Orginally when it was just the few of us going we were going to stay in an AKL savannah room. Now since my sister and her kids are coming Im thinking it may be cheaper to rent a suite or a villa. Can anyone with more knowledge of this help me out? Im pretty set on staying at AKL.

If you all are set on staying at AKL you'd have to have three rooms minimum, one for your family (you, your DH, your DS1, & your parents - four plus one under 3 and two for your sister's family) if not trying to stay at AKV. At AKV you'd need a three bedroom grand villa to accommodate 11 people and those are hard to get at any of the resorts, not to mention the cost if you go through CRO. If you are set on staying at AKV you'd need to find a DVC member whose home resort is AKV and has enough points for your stay to rent from.

March (based on the 2008 calendar) is going to fall in the Magic (March 1-15, 30-31)or Premier Seasons (March 16-29)with DVC which are the two highest for points. If you rent a AKV grand villa it would be 99 pts/night weekdays and 120 pts/ night on weekends in Magic season and 120 pts/night weekdays and 145 pts/night on weekends for Premier Season. When renting points tend to rent (as of now) between $10-12 per point. And one thing to also think about is if you rent points through a DVC member you get mousekeeping on the fourth day of your stay and not daily - some people find daily mousekeeping important. If you stay at a DVC booked through CRO you get daily mousekeeping.
