We'd like to eat some meals off grounds on our upcoming trip. Where have you been that you would recommend? We haven't stayed at BWV yet so I'm not sure where the restauants are in relation to BWV.

You could try the restaurants at Swan and Dolphin. Otherwise, you are a distance from anything offsite.

Chilis in crossroads is good and cheap.
Not a fancy resturasnt but good for a family meal

Bahama Breeze is alo very good.

If you will have a car, there are many, many choices offsite. Celebration has a bunch of good restaurants in a very nice setting, and it's not very far from BWV.

Here's a link to a thread on "Best Offsite Restaurants"

Hopefully, this link takes you to page 31 of that thread, although you will find the whole thread interesting. If you scroll down to post 463 on page 31, you will find a list of Celebration restaurants, with links to their websites.

We have only tried the Celebration Town Tavern and Columbia. Columbia is an old-line Spanish (not Cuban) restaurant from the historic Ybor City area of Tampa, and it is a must-do for us on every trip. Their 1905 Salad is a classic, and all of their food is very good.

We've only eaten at the Town Tavern this past trip, but we liked it and will certainly return on future trips. It's an old South Boston family restaurant that moved south.

We NEVER go off-site to eat, but I just saw another post about Columbia in Celebration and I definitely want to try and get there next time we are in WDW.

We will have a car. We've been to WDW many times but haven't ventured off grounds yet.

We go off -site to eat every trip. Here are a few we enjoy.

Columbia House at Celebration
We love to go to the Dr, Phillips area, about a 20 minute ride to restaurant row.
Roy's, Bonefish Grill, Melting Pot, Season's 52, Fleming's, Bravo, Morton's, the Samba Room and many more!
International Drive, we love the Capitol Grille.
Near the Crossroads we enjoy Miller's Ale House, it's a sports bar with an extensive menu with okay sandwiches and Chevy's.

My favorite part of planning is deciding where we are going to eat!!

we really enjoy flippers at the crossroads. great flatbreads (they have a delicious chicken pasta dish), and very good service.
the day after a disappointing meal at WPE in DTD (they changed the menu for the worse:sad2:), we went to flippers and were thrilled enough to go back repeatedly:thumbsup2

www.restaurants.com has some certificates available right now for Swan and Dolphin restaurants and also The House of Blues at Downtown Disney - we ate there last week and it was great. The certificates are 80% off right now, so you can get a $25 cert for $2.00. the code to use is : SAVE, if you're interested. Be sure to read the restrictions for each restaurant before you buy. For instance, House of Blues required you spend a minimum of $35 and that they'd add 18% tip. We got out of there for under $20. Just a suggestion. have a great trip!

We went to Celebration Town Tavern last week and loved it! My DH is from Connecticut, so he knows his seafood. He was happy to be able to get whole belly clams, and he really liked their clam chowder, too. I had the seafood platter, which was outstanding.

We also like Miller's Ale House and go there at least once during each trip. They are inexpensive and have a variety of food.
