I Need some advice

This is probably a repost but I can't find my original post. We are planning a trip to Disney from October 16th to October 22. How much of a discount from these "codes" should I expect? In the past 4 years we have stayed on disney but if I can get a really good hotel in like Downtown Disney instead of staying at one of the budget hotels on grounds. I'm hoping with these dates the lines shouldn't be much of a worry as before. I read on mousesavers that you can get Grovsner or Holiday Inn at Disney for around $35 to $40 a month. So any advice?

It's kind of hard to say what (if any) discounts will be available to the general public in October. Lately, Disney has been playing it pretty close to the vest with the discounts. They've been releasing codes that are good for a month or two at a time. They will base their discounts on the reservations that have already been made for October and how many open rooms they anticipate. October is considered "regular" season by Disney and the rack rates are higher than they are in September and early November.

There's no guarantee how low the codes will drop your room rate. Perhaps the best strategy would be to book a DTD hotel at the best possible rate and switch to an onsite room if you can find a favorable rate once the codes come out.

Hard to say, although mousesavers.com has a nice historical trends chart. Will give you an idea of what you might expect. But if I'm reading it right, last year the 7-for 4 package extended into late Oct. Also AP and FL resident discounts came out. So not sure if the rest of us will get lucky.

Stop over on the Resorts board. A small mob of people is anxiously awaiting them (and calling everyday to check!)
