My cousin and I are going to a Trade Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center Feb 15 & 16. We want to go to DL. I have some ?'s.
What area would be most convenient to the DL and LACC to get a hotel?

What days would be better to go to DL...Thu (12th) , Fri (13th), Sat (14th) or Tue (17th), Wed (18th), Thu (19th)?

What to park tickets run?

If you were to recommend top five attractions what would they be? Doesn't have to be Disney.

Tues, Wed and Thurs would be better as far as crowds go but Thurs, Fri and Sat will get you more of a chance to see parades and fireworks.
Depending on your interests and if you have a car, other sites to see are Knott's Berry Farm, Hollywood (not really a big deal), Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, The Queen Mary, The getty Museum, San Diego Wild Animal Park, San Diego Zoo, Sea World etc.
I can't help with a hotel unless it is next to Disneyland. :)

Too bad you're not at the Anaheim Convention Center. We stayed at the Grand Californian and it was only a 10 min walk to the convention center (2 blocks),

There aren't any communities between DL and L.A. convention center that I would want to stay in. They're mostly industrial or blue collar areas; not tourist destinations. There are areas safe enough but unless you have business in the immediate area, there really is no reason to stay there. I think you'll find the motels/hotels between the two destinations to be lacking in evening entertainment and may not have many convenient dining establishments nearby. I will add that downtown L.A. will be pretty desserted in the evenings but you can easily hop on the freeways for a short drive to Chinatown, Hollywood, Universal City Walk, Santa Monica/West L.A. or West Hollywood/Melrose area. All of these areas are what I would consider worthy of taking an out-of-town guest too. I can't think of a one in the communties between DL and the L.A. Convention Center.

I suggest staying in L.A. for the convention and making D.L. a day trip or changing to a hotel/motel near D.L. after your convention.

Now why didn't I think of that.
Thanks

I would probably want to work first and play later. You may miss parades/ fireworks, but you are also going to miss the President's Day Crowds. It will be extremely crowded on Saturday and maybe even Friday night. Choose to go Tues/Wed/Thursday.

I agree with others. Stay around the convention center Sunday/Monday and move to the DL area the next 3 days.

Top five attractions in So. Cal: DL, DCA, Universal Studios, Six Flags and any beach. LA/OC are big sports towns. If you like basketball or hockey, you may want to see if the Lakers/Clippers/Kings/Ducks are playing at home. Both Staples Centers and Arrowhead Pond are great arenas.

Okay, we decided to stay on Disney property. I understand there are three of them. Which one? We are two adults both in our 40's and enjoy comfort.

Most definitely the Grand Californian-Concierge. We had a most awesome stay there at the beginning of October. Particularly enjoyed continental breakies and wine and cheese hours. A 5 min walk to anywhere in DLR, 10 min walk from the Anaheim Convention Centre and a 20 min drive to Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, 10 mins to Knotts.
