We are a family of four, 2 adults, and 2 kids. The kids are 7 and 9, and not very picky eaters.

We are ordering vouchers, and was wondering how many I should order.

Do the kids really order off the adult menu?

Or would two adult vouchers be enough for the four of us?

How would you "maximize" the price? My kids sometimes eat a large appetizer as their entree if that makes sense... they get full over a large amount of nachos, or a sampler platter.

Now, the volcano is not applicable, or do you have to use two vouchers?

Thanks!

sorry I cant really help out with voucher questions since I dont know anything about them.. Not sure if you have ever eaten at RFC, but the adult menu portions are huge!! I couldnt eat it all.. Not sure how much your kiddos eat, but I would think it would be safe for them to share a meal.. you and the other adult may even share a meal too.. I would probably figure on separate meals just in case.. or many just share a meal and an appetizer..

The kids meals were reasonable, so if they didn't want to share, they could order a kids meal themselves. We had a ton of food though. DD did share the appetizer with me but would not share any of my shrimp.

We fed 4 adults (2 men and 2 women) and two kids(ages 5 & 2) who eat very little on one adult voucher and one kid's voucher. We got the appetizer sampler (requires 2 vouchers) and got the lobster/steak as one entree and a pasta dish as another entree. We ended up getting extra drinks and a side salad that they kept on an extra bill that probably added up to $10 or so. We got two separate desserts. They pretty much treated the kids voucher identical to the adult one and allowed us to order anything on the menu as our kid's entree. I would think it would be reasonable for them to require you to order off the kid's menu if using a kid's voucher, but this past June they didn't require that. We all walked away VERY full.

We used one adult and one kids voucher to feed 4 of us on our last trip (2 adults/2 kids).

We ordered:

Adult voucher
Caribe chicken appetizer
1 filet (could have got the stuffed lobster but DH declined)
1 huge ICEE mug drink filled with coke
volcano dessert (combined with other voucher)

Kid voucher
Bruschetta (that's what DH wanted, but could have ordered something more expensive or more filling)
1 steak and coconut shrimp entree
1 huge ICEE mug filled with sprite
volcano dessert (combined with other voucher)

One of my daughters ate the chicken appetizer as her meal. My other daughter shared the steak and coconut shrimp with me. DH ate the filet.

If you have a Safari Club card you can also get an extra appetizer for free. I happened to forget my card back in the hotel room so didn't get the extra appetizer, but it wasn't really needed. It costs I think $5 to sign up but they send you a $5 gift certificate. Plus they send you certificates abuot 2 times a year for $5.

When we went we just ordered what we wanted and didn't try to get the "best" deal. But we still ended up with lots of food and a great deal.

I just ordered mine earlier today and planned on using 1 Adult and 1 Child VKL voucher for the four of us. And, I'm very happy to hear the Volcano is available when using two vouchers. It will remind us of home (Mt. St. Helens country!).

The one thing they do different at WDW Rainforest is that the sparkler part on top of the volcano is actually just a paper/foil spray thing. They use a real sparkler (sparks and all) on the volcanos here at home (Chicago area).

DD and I eat at the Mall of America Rainforest every couple months. Menu same at all Rainforest for the most jpart.

The adult portions are huge. We have a safari card, so we usually get the free appetizer. (big plate of quesiidillas). and split a steak. It's still too much food.

We're going saturday. This time I'll think we'll skip the appetizer and just get the l0% discount off the meal with the rainforst card.

herc.
