We are headed to WDW in December and I'm trying to get our ADRs organized:surfweb: . I need one more TS in Epcot for our first night there. It has to be inside Epcot. The kids are 7, 5, and 18 months on our trip. We are mostly meat and potatoes type people, but will eat new foods. We are on the DDP. DH hates buffets but will go to family style restaurants. The other restaurants we plan are:

CRT breakfast (OOP)
Ohana breakfast
Whispering Canyon lunch
Le Cellier dinner
Captain Jacks dinner
LTT dinner
Sci Fi lunch
Plaza Rest. dinner
Coral Reef dinner

So what do the DIS experts recommend? popcorn::

The Land restaurant! Farmer Mickey and friends and really good food when we went. It was fun to ride the Living with the Land ride and then go eat, you slowly circle different views of the ride.

sorry wrong name - Garden Grille

if you want one near MK - then Concourse Steak house.

one of my favorites is Tepanyaki in Japan. The food is prepared right at your table in front of you so it's a bit of "entertainment" with your meal. They have beef, chicken, and seafood. I guess it's rice instead of potatoes but food can be made very "plain" plus there are various dipping sauces to give it more flavor if you like.

Another fun option if you would consider something new is Marrakesh in Morroco. They have beef, chicken etc combined with different spices than you might normally experience but they are still pretty Americanized -- nothing on the menu you won't recognize. This too has a bit of entertainment as there is a belly dancer (very tasteful) and your children might be invited to come out and dance with her (not forced if that would make them uncomfortable).

Definitly go to The Garden Grill in The Land - it's one of my favorite restaurants on property :goodvibes The food and atmosphere is great - your kids will love it!!!! :thumbsup2

Teppanyaki is great fun for the kids as the chefs do sort of a cooking show for them and the food is great. Stir fry at its best and you can flavor it as you like. I have to admit that I have not done the Garden Grille in years so I cannot comment on how it is now. It has always been one of those restaurants for us, been there done that... no big deal. I am not saying it is not great now just never have gone back.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Biergarten! If you like meat and potatoes...this is the place! PLUS, there are a few "different" items to try. My DD (she was 7 at the time...this was last Oct) had such a blast on the dance floor with a bunch of other kids. This is one restaurant that we can't believe it took us so long to try.

Oh, darn! I just saw DH does not like buffets! Guess that's why no one recommended Biergarten.:guilty: How can he not like buffets? Does he get grossed out thinking of people touching his food? My DH is *all over* the WDW buffets! He doesn't like family style...if you ask for more bacon, they will bring you a few pieces. He likes hitting the buffet and piling 27 pieces on his plate, LOL.

Good luck with whatever you decide...I am sure you will have fun!

Biergarten would have been my first recommentation too if OP DH did not have his buffet issue.

 What about Rose & Crown to view Illuminations?!?!?!?! Great service, good food, and kids would love fireworks. You can get great Fish & Chips or a steak there. If your DH is a drinker perhaps you can persuade him with a pint of beer.:drinking1 This is one of my DH favorite places.

Good luck planning!

Alfredo's is a favorite of ours. The fettuccini is the best and the waiters are fast and friendly.

With the ages of your kids I would definitely say the Garden Grill. I think it would keep the kids entertained by having the characters there and also the fact that the restaurants moves and it is meat and potatoes!

I knew you guys would come through with great recommendations :-) :cool1: My dh is very odd in that he hates the buffets. It makes picking restaurants a lot harder. With three kids all who need help getting their plates he hates constantly walking back and forth and trying to get everyone fed. He says he'd rather sit on his butt and have someone bring him the food :lmao: Much more relaxing meal that way.:dance3: I am going to research the menus of each of the places you guys picked and see what one sounds best. Thank you for helping me narrow the field :surfweb:

That actually makes sense. We only have one DD...and we always "argue (not really, but you know what I mean...) about whose turn it is to take her up to the buffet when DH and I are starving and inhaling our food! LOL! I can only IMAGINE with 3...you'd never get a chance to eat!

We wanted to try something different the last time we went to Epcot. We tried Marrakesh in Morocco. The food was great!
