I need OE help

How do I get my spell check turned back on in my email to check before sending automaticlly.
I know I used to have it set but now I can't find it. I'm running Windows ME and Internet exploer 6.0

click tools > options > spelling> Always check spelling before sending

I can't find a spelling tab under tools-options. I think I lost my spell check when I did the last set of crical updates.

Go to Tools, Options and check the box. Hope this helps. I've got so much great advice from here that I'm glad to be able to help somebody else.

I also have ME and OE and cannot use spell check. I copied the following from the help menu in OE:

"To check the spelling in messages
Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available.

In the New Message window, click Spelling on the toolbar, or on the Tools menu, click Spelling.
Note

To customize the way your spelling checker works, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then select the Spelling tab. "


I went to the new message and spelling is there, but it is light gray where I cannot click on it. I guess maybe because I don't have any of the programs listed above (Word, Excel or PowerPoint). Hope this info helps you.

That's correct, Eeyoreforever.

Spellcheck is not built in to Outlook Express; it uses the spellcheck module included in the Microsoft Office products.

If you do not have Office (or one of the major components) installed on your machine, the spellcheck command in OE will be grayed out.

Is Microsoft Word (or Excel or Powerpoint) installed on your computer?

I have msworks. I did have spell check until recently and have not added or deleted anything other than cricial updates from windows.

Did you recently upgrade MSWorks to version 7?

Looks like the spell checker in version 7 is not compatible with OE. Could that be it?

It's not a recent upgrade to Msworks 7.0 but I wonder if when I did last updates if I may not have done a update relted to Msworks therefore no longer having spell check.

Thanks for the help, I'll just live with out it.
