Sadly, we do not have a concrete trip in the works...we are hoping for Dec '05. The problem is I am becoming obsessed with trying to make a trip become a reality and I am wishing the rest of our time away! Y'know, like only looking up WDW stuff, not really caring about the little daily things we could be doing or planning...always thinking that the $ spent on a daily outing could be put towards a WDW trip...I am entering dangerous territory when I judge everything else by Disney ;) the fact that we are in Chicago doesn't help as the weather is never warm until the kids are practically back to school. How am I ever going to get through 21 more months of waiting?
H E L P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to my world!! I think you're in good company here on the DIS. ;)

LOL, you sound perfectly normal to me :teeth: I am blessed in one way... no family to worry about so I just take quick trips down between my big ones for a fix. Otherwise I just keep dreaming, searching and posting :p

And you're coming HERE for help! lol! :)

I'm doing the same thing, you're not alone!

do you measure money in "Disney trips"? I measure money in "trips to Europe."

"I decreased my interest by $2000 this year -- that's a trip to Europe!"

"That raise would give me an extra $3000 a year -- that's a trip to Europe!"

"Well I COULD buy this bed now -- or I could spend it on a quick trip to Europe!"

I just can't seem to comprehend the value of money until I figure out what fun things I can do with it.

Hey Dan and geffric....:wave2: My DD's final dance of jr.hi is a conflict during the DISmeet--- kind of a day into night gig...and I actually was asked to chaperone...(much to her dismay :o ) since it is the only one I have had a chance to be at I am gong to be there...HS next year and I think my chances will be MUCH slimmer...now if she changes her mind and wants to go to the meet instead....:cool2: Altho, I bet the meet will just make me want to get to Orlando even more!
Catsrule... you KNOW if we end up your way a KI pass is a done deal (still waiting, BTW)you're at least fitting in an exotic trip to Hawaii, trying different things...it takes me 2+ years to save for WDW alone...fahghedahboud any OTHER trips...
Doc Rafiki...I don't even want to tell you how old our bed is :o let's just say the kids don't even bother jumping on it anymore, a raise...what's a raise? We know what 2 cuts in pay are...hmmm, I think I recall hearing the word used for DH's boss...
Glad to know I'm in great company with my weakness...but I do have to say I need to learn how to find a balance(not the one on our credit card:p ) as the natives in the family are getting restless, and I sure don't want to risk them resenting WDW because it is all we(o.k. I) LIVE FOR! Of course, Florida in general is my ultimate goal....not sure when, just know where!

Happy Easter All!

Just get a season's pass to Paramount's Kings Island.;) :teeth:

We have been thinking about doing that this year but I am not sure???? The kids really want us to, but I am afraid we wouldn't get there enough to get our monies worth. Have a great time!!

You are not alone. I just started a new job after 2 1/2 years of being a SAHM. I came back in at the exact same salary I left the workforce at, and all I can do is think about planning another trip to WDW. Especially since we would be able to do it in style!! And there are lots of better things we could do with the money including getting ready for a cross country move in the next year.

Oh FINFAN me too! My husband agreed that we could go back in January 2006 but I am shooting for February 2005. Trying everything I can think of to put money away and pay off bills now. I think the Feb 2005 is probably a bit unrealistic though but I am dying to go back. My husband was surprised though when he saw the Disney stash in my office and how much I actually had saved already. I come to the DIS boards more often than I should to live vicariously through the people who are going to WDW now and keep dreaming of going sooner myself. I stop myself from buying unneccessary things so I can save the money for Disney instead and am going crazy using my Disney Visa for everything so I can accumulate points without carrying a balance. Maybe I will get there sooner than 2006 but if not it sure is fun dreaming and planning. I am in NH too and half the fun of WDW in winter is escaping the cold for me. Good luck to you! Hope you get back as soon as you can. Until then there is always the DIS. :)

I too make decisions based upon putting the money towards the next trip. I am taking back some stuff I bought at HomeGoods the other day because it was frivilous and I could use that money towards a trip.

I have issues and the DIS helps, but in the same way it doesn't, it makes you think of trips every day - but it also saves you money on those trips.

Yup - you're in good company.
