I need ideas - because Im a nut

So - suddenly a large window of time has opened up in our family schedule and I feel like going to Disney. The dates we would like to go are 12/19 throu 01/01. Of course - I know Im crazy. There is no sites - nothing but cabins. We are tent campers. How can I make this happen? Prayer? Fasting? Im open to other ideas. Even if we can only get into the fort for one week say 12/19 through 12/26 - that would be fine - but I cant get anything.

Am I just plain crazy for even trying? Feel free to flame me. Ive been off the boards for a while so my skin is thick - love to you all.

The only thing I can say is KEEP TRYING! We go every Decemebr during the first 2 weeks. My parents get a cabin and we get a campsite. We were going to have to stay the forst 2 nights with my parents because we could not get a campsite until day 3 of our vacation. We planned this 10+ months ago.

On a whim my husband tried last week and got the first 2 nights!!
Not that we minded staying with the G-parents but not to have to worry about the camper in overflow, interrupting vacation to set up on day 3, etc we were thrilled!

So keep plugging away. And be flexible with your dates, too! Good luck and hope to see you there!

Call/check online EVERY day - try mornings and evenings.

If ANY of the days you need come up, grab them. You may need to piece it all together. Downside to that is that during Christmas week there actually is a pretty good chance you'll have to move sites accordingly - but I suppose it depends on how much of a hassle that will be vs being at WDW.

You can get all the days, but 12/21 and 12/25, but if you keep trying they'll will probably open up. So, hurry and reserve those you can now. These were available as of 9:25 a.m.

You need to reserve individually, not the whole range.

I think if you look at each individual day, one by one, you can come up with the above availability. I'm also trying to get a reservation over Christmas and I keep looking at a variety of dates to see if anything opens up. It's so frustrating. I wish you could just put in the dates you wanted to stay and see what's available!

Try expanding your dates. Keep expanding, and you will eventually get your ressie. I know you're in a tent, but you may end up having to settle for a premium.

I wanted the 2nd weekend in January, but ended up having to book 3 weeks before I could get a ressie with the dates I wanted. You just book it and call back & cancel the dates you don't want.

Whip, I have my fingers crossed for ya!!! I agree with Deb, just make the request for a huge chunk around what you want, and then just trim it down to what you need! Try it lots of different ways, 3 weeks in front of what you need, then 3 weeks behind, and around.... it will happen I know it will!

P.S. if you do get a premium, then you could just make a giant camper out of duct tape, and you will fit right in!!!

Im trying daily - Ill take anything - I dot care if I have to put my elaborate tent display net to the 300,000$$ RV's - I want to go to Disney for Christmas - (insert tears here) . . . .

I agree with the others...try all different date ranges and hopefully you'll get something. That's what I've been doing and every search brings up different results (nothing to help me though). We want to go to the Fort over New Years and the first week of January and the only thing that I can get is a tent site and we want a premium (or any other RV site). I know my biggest problem is New Year's. I'm sure that someone will cancel eventually and I check about 5 times a day with every date range I can think of. Good luck. If I see anything for you, I'll let you know.

I was lucky enough to get a reservation today from 12/31 to 1/30, although I only need it until 1/9! I had to put in about 20 different date variations to get it though.

I came across a bunch of tent availabilities so I looked at the dates you want to go. It looks like these dates have tent sites at the moment:

12/19-20
12/22-25
12/26-28
12/30-1/11 (This was the only way to get the 30th to the 1st)

You might want to make all the individual reservations and hope the other days open up. If I remember correctly, they can't combine reservations, so I don't know how that would work. Good luck!
