I didn't realize my trip was coming up so soon - three weeks!

Anyway, my choices are:
Holiday Inn Anaheim at the Park, 1915 S. Manchester
Anaheim Islander, 424 W. Katella (but I'd have to stay somewhere else the first night)
Comfort Inn & Suites, 300 E. Katella

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with any of those hotels but I do know they are not walking distance.

What criteria are you using for your selection? Is there anything available on Harbor Bl for you?

Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn usually have a good reputation and the Comfort Inn gets good reviews on tripadvisor so that may be a good choice. The Holiday Inn didn't do so well.

The Isander is a small generic old two story motel that generally is the kind of place where it may be clean but a bit worn. I have not stayed there but have known a couple of people who said it was fine in a pinch and for the price.
The Confrot Inn is near Highway 5 and used to be a Hampton Inn. I have no information on it other than that it looks fine.
The Holiday Inn is a new place and a co-worker stayed here and said it was a good place to stay. It is the farthest away of the three though.

Thank you both! Criteria is cost, abetted by rankings/ratings on tripadvisor. The Holiday Inn is probably the best combination (about $70 a night, reasonably-pleased customers). Close isn't that big a deal, although I will recheck the ART site to see which, if any, of these hotels it stops right at.

It's not one of your choices, but we stayed at Comfort Inn and Suites on Harbor, farther down, but we really liked it. We had the Kids' Suite, which was on the back side, facing a residential street. It was quiet and the room was clean. I'd stay there again. The ART was a 1 minute walk away in front of the Vagabond, I think.

I think I've stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Park. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was clean and got the job done. I used the Anaheim Resort Transportation which picked up right in front of the hotel and that worked out great! There's a gas station across the street that we used to pick up late night snacks.

It's not too late to try Priceline! If available, you'd get a nice 3* hotel for no more than what you're paying for your 3 choices. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com for more info.

Thanks, everybody! I tried Priceline - no luck. Now I have to wait until, I think, Thursday to try again.

In the meantime, I have reservations at both the Comfort Inn & Suites, and at the Red Roof Inn. Any thoughts?

Hi katieeldr,

I just returned from a Saturday overnight at the Holiday Inn at the Park (long discussion, but am working in Sacramento and just had to visit at least once); IT WAS GREAT!

First of all, Holiday Inn at the Park IS in walking distance to the park, well, about 10-15 min's on a wide sidewalk next to a very busy street, although walking across the entrance ramp to the I-5 can be a bit intimidating; however, the crosswalk does have a light and is very well marked (and majority of time cars stopped when they saw me standing there). I'm not sure I would recommend the walk for families with small children that like to dart into streets, but it is definitely do-able. The shuttle is available, and costs $2/day/person, but then you're stuck with its schedule.

Technically it's claim to being the closest to the park is not incorrect since it is right behind the park across I-5. You can see the fireworks from the pool area as well as the outside corridors around the hotel where anybody can stand, which is a plus since not all hotels closer to the entrance have outside corridors or areas where anybody/everybody can view the fireworks. However, the greatest decision to stay at the Holiday Inn at the Park is its pool and hottub which is open 24 hrs. Nothing like returning from the park and being able to soak in a hottub at 1:00am.

Otherwise, the rooms were clean, the bed was firm (some might say hard, obviously newer mattress/bed springs, but I liked it), the typical HI bathroom with the sink outside the tub/toilet-area in my room.

The other contributing factor in my view is that because it isn't sandwiched in with all the other hotels, you don't have all the foot traffic nearby; generally, only people staying there are around.

I know this throws a monkey-wrench into your decisions, and you probably won't go too far off as long you stay in a "Good Neighbor Hotel," as they have to maintain certain minimums, but had to let you know my experience.

Whatever you do, don't stress too much about the hotel situation, they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Enjoy!
