I am hoping to get some help. I have airfare to Florida Oct 15-24. I was planning on just going to WDW the entire time. But now thinking MAYBE i will try the 3 or 4 night cruise. I have never cruised before, not sure if I will like it---anyways--I am going with DS 3yo, DD 7yo and my mom. How do I begin to book--do i cruise first thing when I get to Orlando (take bus) or do i do it middle week......I have no idea HELP----I NEED HELP  :earsgirl: Thank you in advance for anyone who could give me some suggestions!!!!!

I'm sure you'll enjoy the cruise should you decide to go.

You'll be on the Disney Wonder, leaving Port Canaveral on Thurs. for the 3-night or Sunday for the 4-night.

Log onto the Disney Cruise Line website for information about the cruise and where they go. There are several travel websites on the internet - such as Dreams Unlimited, Travelocity, Expedia, etc.

If you belong to AAA check there or any travel agent you wish to use in your area. Of course the DIS board here will also give you plenty of information and suggestions. You took the first step already.

Be prepared to have a wonderful time. Best wishes.

I see you will be arriving to FL on Friday Oct.15th, it seems that most people that do WDW and a cruise, tend to do the parks first. Since you aren't sure if you would like the cruise, why not start with a 3 day cruise on Oct. 21st, that will bring you back into port on Oct. 24th. What time does your flight leave on Oct. 24th? If you have a late morning or early afternoon flight, you should have no problem catching your flight home.

We just recently decided to do a disney cruise, never cruised before, and I can't wait. I have read so many things on these boards and my passporter, that I simply can not WAIT. Everything sounds so exciting. After years of going to Disney (twice a year) we thought it was time for a change.
You asked for suggestions....this is what I would do.

1. Do a land/sea... you get the best of both worlds.
You said that your dates were Oct 15-24 The Wonder sails out on the 17th of October (thats our cruise) for 4 nights and on the 21st for a three night. You would have to pick between the two and then decide what to do with you other days. With your dates this is my opinion....Do Disney from 15-21 and then go on the 3 night cruise on the 21st returning on the 24th.

Hope this helps. If not just asked, there are plenty of DISers that would be happy to answer in more questions.

Thanks for the comments!!

It looks like I will have to do the 4 night, because we come home Sun 10/25 at 10:30 am.

Now another question, do I book a hotel at WDW for 10/15, 10/16 go on cruise 10/17-10/21 then book room again for 10/21 - 10/24.....

Do you suggest jsut going through AAA or other agency...

Thanks!!
Jen

Since you already have your airfare and know the times, call AAA or mouseearsvacations.com or another travel agency and have them quote you prices for a land/sea package. You can either do four days at Disney and three days at sea, or vice versa. Tell them when your flight returns and they can work out the schedules around that.

I would not advise returning from a cruise that Sunday because you would not make the 10:30 a.m. flight (or would be cutting it very close). You could do the four day cruise (Sunday through Thursday) and then three days on land!

I went through AAA and got a great "group rate" don't exactly know what that means but I have already been upgraded to a Cat 5 GTY from a Cat 6 GTY. As far a booking the rooms, AAA can do that also with a small discount.
I would love to be able to do alittle Disney World, a cruise, and then go for alittle down time back at Disney. Sounds Great!! ::yes::
