My mother, sister, and I are planning a vacation to disneyworld sometime in june 2010. By we i mean ME. Can you guys please help me out! When will 2010 packages come out? im so worried about screwing up this trip :/ any planning strateges are welcome and needed!

I initially booked one for June of this year...last December, I think. They had already extended the 4/3 promotion at that point. So I assume before then.

2010 packages are already available for booking but they are at the full price for tickets and rooms.

Discounts are seasonal with some times of the year having better offers and steeper reductions than others. Typically, if the kiddos are out of school, the room rates are higher and the discounts are fewer. June is one of those traditionally more expensive times of the year. Disney considers all of June to be "Summer Season" with Value Resort rack rates ranging from $115/night to $140/night for 2010.

Having said that, there are some discounts. AAA members can book a room at a value for 10% off of the rack rate during summer season.

While June is ususally not discounted, park attendance and room occupancy was so low in 2009 that Disney actually offered a pretty sweet deal that ran from Jan. thru June with just a few blackout dates. You paid for 4 nights and 4-day passes and got 7 nights and 7-day passes. That came out to almost a 43% discount off the price of the room. The ticket savings were small because the difference between a 4-day and a 7-day pass is not very much.

The key is to be flexible enough with your dates and preferred resort to be able to take advantage of the discounts when they are announced. And unless you use a TA that promises to keep on top of those discount codes for you, it falls on you to keep abreast of the offers. The earlier in the promotion that you book your reservation, the more likely you are to get the resort & dates that you want. The number of rooms available under any discount are limited.

thanks for the tips! any adive is apreciated, im new at planning trips!

Mousesavers.com keeps an excellent record of past discounts, when they were announced and their effective dates. You might want to check it out to get a feel for approximate release dates. :thumbsup2

You can also keep up on the buzz and rumors about impending discounts by checking out the Codes & Rates Board. Just remember that most of the buzz is conjecture. They were WAYYYY off with their speculation about the August 12th announcement. :headache:
