I need help and I don't want to start a bad political thread, but I am lost on who to vote for... I have seen both debates now, but I am still lost. Can you please tell me your pros/cons for each candidate. By no means do I want this to turn into a horrible bashing thread, I am just looking for the potential in each candidate.

If there is already a thread can someone provide a link.

Yeah seriously LOL.

Maybe go to each candidate's website and read their plans.

What issues are important to you? Pay close attention at each candidate's site and see if how they feel mirrors how you feel or if you find one "close enough."

I think you're going to need to do a little more research than asking for a few sentences from supporters of this candidate or that candidate. I would recommend delving into each candidate's website and reading their positions.

You've watched the debates. Watch tomorrow's debate.

Both candidates have websites that outline their particular plans in different areas.

I would recommend looking there.

I wouldn't be able to offer you a non-biased opinion...honestly.

If you do the research yourself, and you decide which issues are MOST important to you, it will be easier to decide.

Debates are so short...just a snippet in time. You don't get to learn about a candidate's policies.

Really this year they are both so very different. With very different opinions on so many things. Just overview both politicians opinions and voting records on things. Pick which are most important to you and Vote accordingly. Get busy reading!

I wish I could help, as I'm in the same situation as you are in. I'm leaning towards McCain though for one main reason, and that is he's not into socializing our government as Obama is. I'm very pro "less government", and McCain leans that way, too. I believe that too many socialist policies will make America weak and too dependent on government hand-outs, and that's not an ethic I teach my children.

The sad thing is, it's the supporters of BOTH candidates that are turning me off to them both. I can't stand the "my guy does no wrong" attitude. Neither one is helping their candidate, as far as I'm concerned. There's no rational discussion found here on the Dis, just making excuses for their candidates.

Whatever you decide, just please vote. To me this is the most important election in my lifetime. It's time that we Americans stood up as a nation and voted! Then, whoever wins, at least we can say we voted! I am so tired of BOTH parties being partisan, that I wish both candidates the best for whomever is elected is going to inherit a huge mess.

Vote, it's the only choice we have.

Here is what I tell people, go to the candidates website, see how they stand on issues. Then ask yourself HOW they plan to do what they promise. Alot of times, the answer to HOW seems to resonate more than just what there websites state.
