I need help with my new Canon P & S

I just bought a Canon sx130 is. It seems to load my video on my computer in MOV (it also says it's a Quicktime file) and my computer doesn't want to read it. Actually both my computers are having trouble with it. I can get real player to open it on my vista, but it's lacking. I can't get it to work at all on my XP, which is the computer I usually use. I want to do stuff with moviemakers, but movie makers won't read it at all.
Any suggestions on how to convert this? And why would canon change things like that. I have had several canons and never had a problem in the past.

Have you tried the software that came bundled with your camera? Have you tried downloading the latest version of the Quicktime player? What editing software are you trying to use? You will need to convert it to use Windows Movie Maker but other software like Premiere will be able to use it as is.

The video format is iPod/phone/pad freindly. Blame Apple for the change.

I'm trying to edit in windows movie maker. It took a long time fore me to understand that. I din't know if I can learn something new. It came with zoombrowser, which I aslo never use and have no clue what to do with it. I did load it and it loaded to Vista, but refuses to load to my XP.
I own nothing from apple, si I have no clue how to use anything like that.
