My hair is shoulder length, fine and naturally curly. I actually like humid weather!!!

But, this cold weather is making my hair really dry and fly away! It seems to be getting worse every year (age?). I use a Redkin shampoo and conditioner every other day along with this Redkin spray in styling stuff--I think it's called quick treat. But, my hair just seems to be so dry, flyaway and shapeless!

Does anyone have any suggestions for things I can do to help get my type of hair under control in this nasty weather?

Well, I'm not a hair care expert or anything --- but I change products every so often. My hair seems to "get used to" a brand and won't respond very well over time. Makes all the difference in the world to change over to something else every now and then.

Hope it helps!

I do the same thing as Annemarie. I switch brands every week. My winter hair problem seems to be static electricity if I switch sweaters midway through the day.

Aussie Hair Insurance is a good spray in conditioner. Any of the shine serums would help. Mainly just keep conditioning it. Hair color would protect it somewhat too.
Lotion would help flyaways when you aren't at home. Just rub a dab in your hands, rub it almost all the way in, and smooth it over your hair.
My hair is not-so-naturally curly at the moment and I'm having a hard time with dryness too.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm definitely going to try a new product tomorrow. Any suggestions on some light hair sprays that might help give a little control? I've just never had this problem quite so bad!!! It seems like by the time I get to work in the morning my hair has completely lost it's shape and just looks limp and fly away.

While my hair isn't naturally curly, I can tell you what I do. My hair is naturally straight - VERY straight, so it takes some work to get it to look good. In the winter, I cannot go without a daily conditioner. That helps alot with the static. Also, for styling, I put a heavy gel in my hair (Loreal Mega gel) then I blowdry it. This helps SO much with the flyaway-syndrome. In the summer, this gel is to heavy for the humidity and I switch to a lighter gel like Pantene.

I forgot, a dab of pomade in your hair (on the problem areas) for fly aways works wonders. Put a teeny bit in, comb through. Not too much or it will slick it back. The cost for pomade runs the gamit. You can go to a salon and spend oodles on the stuff, or go to Wal-mart and get some generic version that will do just as well for a lot less.

I also like spray gels (I buy the Herbal Essence brand.) Sometimes I use a hair thickening spray (I used Bumble & Bumble --- I get it at a salon.) when I style my hair. It's great for body and holds a style very well. I don't even use hair spray when I use it. :D
