If you go to the thread near the top of this forum titled 'get your Countdowns Here' and then use the link shown in there, it will take you to a 'Countdown Generator'.
One of the screens that will pop up is a detailed instruction screen, you might want to print it out for easy reference.
The instructions will take you thru the process of getting a preview image of your countdown. After the preview, you then generate the actual script code for the countdown. The lines should be highlighted on your screen. At that point, you need to do a COPY so that it is in your pcs clipboard buffer.
Then you need to make a new post and test your countdown timer BEFORE you put it into your signature area. In the new post, just make a one or two line statement about testing your new countdown and then do a PASTE so that the code is now in the body of your post. Then submit the post and review it.
If you put the countdown code into the body of a post, you can test it there in one place, safely. If you add it to your signature, it gets added to every post you have made on the boards.
Ok, so after you make a test post and see that it's Ok, you can then use one of the other screens that was created in the script generation process that takes you to the User Control Panel. From there, you can edit your signature area and then check one more time that's Ok. Now it's been added to every post you made in the past and will be added to every one of them in the future. At least until you change your signature again.
hope that helps
