We are planning a DL trip for November 2024. It will be with a large group of people, mostly adults. Many of who have never been or haven't been in 30+ years. I'm the one with the most recent experience and even I haven't been since 2014.
I went to the disneyland website and it seems there have been a few things that didn't exist last time I went and I need help understanding them.

1. Park reservations:
-If you have to reserve a park for a specific day, does that mean that park hoppers are not useful anymore?
-How far in advance can/should we make reservations?

2. Magic Key Pass:
-What is it? The website doesn't give much of an explanation. All I see is that it gives you discounts on a couple things.

3. Genie+
- Again, what is it? I am not understanding what it is or what it's for.

My $0.02 ... as a Disneyland semi-local:

0. November 2024: That is still a long ways out ... much could change before your travel dates!

1. Park Reservations / Park Hoppers: If you have Hoppers, then the Park Reservation is for the 1st park you intend to visit for that day. Presently, park hopping is permitted after 11a. In my view, park hopping is still a great tool for DL/DCA, in general, but it might not be helpful if your 'large group" wants to stick together for the entire visit.

2. Magic Key Pass: DLR's nomenclature for 'Annual Pass.' There are presently 4 levels; one if these is restricted to California residents only.

3. Genie+: The new "pay to play" version of FastPass with a few additional perks thrown in: PhotoPass, behind the scenes stories, etc. If your entire group wants to use Genie+ Lightning Lanes (the new word for FastPass) then each will need to pay for Genie+. For a group, it might make sense to plan on this purchase but designate one person to manage the rides/attractions throughout the day. (Sorry, I've never purchased Genie+ ... I have nothing else to offer on this topic.)

Honestly? By Nov 2024 so many things can change. It's more than 2 years away, park reservations might not exist or they might be set up differently, same with Genie+. I recommend you plan your hotels maybe and leave the rest of it for early 2024.
