Me too, which is why I need to get up there. Papa's nearing 80 and my Grandpy (mom's dad) is 87. Stupid fuel prices are driving airline prices up. Southwest releases flights today so we'll see what they have

Memere just turned 90, we missed the party because DS7 was ill, didn't want to get any old people sick so we need to visit with her soon. She's just up in Framingham so it's not to bad of a drive but I won't drive in MA unless I have to.

I feel your pain with the fuel prices, I couldn't lock in for our oil so we are going to be hurting!

Yeah, that's every weekend from now until May 9th. This is craziness. I wouldn't drive. From here to Tallahassee is about as far as I'd drive. Jet Blue into Boston is just over $300 roundtrip. Oh well, I'll keep looking

I usually fly into Boston or Providence, Providence is about 35 minutes away, Boston an hour or so (I usually get in late at night). I'm not sure how far another airport would be

Post 9/11 I was able to fly roundtrip on Delta Song from Fort Lauderdale to Boston for about $125 including taxes. I did a lot of weekends for a couple of years then.

I went up last December, Southwest for $189 which I could do, but for a weekend I refuse to spend more than $225 or so.

believe it or not it's probably cheaper for me to fly to see you than it is to fly from here to Florida!!!

Gas is up to $3.15 a gallon here. ERGH! I heard California is up to $5 in some places. It's nuts!!! My home heating bill is going to break the bank this year.

I feel your pain, Faerie. When I bought my AP last year I hoped to be able to sneak away for a long weekend here and there, but the airfare costs made that impossible. I haven't broken $200 for BOS to MCO in a loooong time.

But this talk got me thinking. What about planning a little mini-meet for us New Englanders maybe after the holidays? Somewhere in Southern MA might be central for CT, RI and MA. Would anyone be up for that?
