Yeah, I hit it right for my nephews...phone cards!

Sorry guys, I'm going to leave the big stuff to your parents to buy!

Just be aware of size restrictions.
After 4 Chrsitmas times have rolled around, it is getting hard to think of things for DD because her room is full!!

She wants GC for fast food, money ;), games for her Playstation and Game Boy, CDs and DVDs.

Towels were always good.....and she always prefers beach towels.
Rice cooker and waffle iron are things she wanted.

(she already had a frig/micro combo that was in the room and a TV/VCR combo and a stereo)

Hmmm, let me think

everything mentioned above
gift certificates to Target (I always seemed to need something there)
under the bed organizers
plastic drawers
hangers
bath caddy
towel rack
makeup mirror
door mirror
throw pillows
alarm clock
picture frames
posters
iron
ironing board

I think this will be good but I'll think of some more if you need.

Rolls of quarters!
Fast food gift certificates
Amazon.com gift certificate

Remember, if you get twin-sized sheets, make sure they're the X-long size.

If you go with sheets, make sure you know what size.....not all dorm rooms have the same beds.
We have boughten 3 sizes in the 3 1/2 years.
Twin extra longs, full and then queen (that dorm had great futons!).

My son is in the dorms in college and he is looking for: phone cards, quarters for laundry, Dunkin Donut GC(or whatever is close by), pictures of people from home, photo albums, camera, movies. Space is really limited in the dorms so you can;t but anything too big. Also, there are different restrictions in different school. My sons school doesn't allow microwaves(unless you rent something from the school), or any type of appliance(popcorn poppers, toasters, coffee makers, george foreman grills etc). What about a Butterfly chair for watching tv. Then when she was done she could fold it up and it would fit under the bed!

Both my college age kids needed those under the bed rubbermaid storage containers.

Target and fast food certifs are great!

I wish I could help but I didn't get to go to college :(

My brother Harry went in my place, maybe I could ask him.

Toilet Paper, tooth paste, shampoo, deoderant (the necessities). They hate to use their own money to buy these things. They would rather use their money for the "good" stuff. A gift certificate to Wal-Mart would be good too. A gas gift-certificate would be great.

Nothing that hasn't been mentioned here...but can we emphasize the QUARTERS!!! and the phone cards. Find out her favorite shampoo and products, like someone said, it's no fun to buy these things yourself with your own money. (Though hey, thats the real world...but still ;) )

I know that my school bookstore takes the Barnes and Noble gift certif.

We got my son (freshman) a few gift certificates to the Outback restaurant, because that's the restaurant of choice for birthdays and other special occasions among his friends. He has discovered snow and is taking skiing and snowboarding for his PE next term, so I got him some good ski goggles. He also is getting a snow skate, sort of a skateboard for snow. I think I will get him a few rolls of quarters now!

I don't know if they have an Urban Outfitters store for your area, but they have a website. They have some great stuff for apartments/dorms, a lot of unique things.

My brother is such a slob and he always has clothes everywhere, so I found a great gift for him. It's a rug shaped shaped like a giant brief, can't wait to give it to him!

here's the site, good luck!

Here is a good one there is alway a wal-mart near by. I am living off of a wal-mart gift card and when it runs out you can put more money on it. Always make sure they have quarters for laundry.
