.......and the answers!!!!

I'm subbing (long term) in a 6th grade Math class and thought it would be fun to start each class with a Math riddle. Anybody have some good ones?? Or know where I could go find some??

I will check back in when I come home from my DS's basketball game.

Thanks ahead of time!:D

I have a good book, but it's at work. I'll try to remember to bring it home tomorrow and help ya out! 6th graders are so much fun! Enjoy!

Here's one you have to say out loud:

A bus goes to a bus stop and picks up 6 people. At the next stop it picks up 4 and lets off two. At the next stop it picks up 3 and lets off 1. At the next stop it picks up 7 and lets off 4. At the next stop it picks up 6 and lets off 3. (you can make this go on as long as you want.) Then say "Now how many stops does the bus make?" rather than how many are on the bus. If you prefer to ask how many people are on the bus remember to add in the driver. Most people don't do that.

Kpgclark......that's a cute one. I plan on using that one today. Thanks!:D

Chager.......thanks for all the websites. They (the school) just gave me a password yesterday so I can check some of those sites today at school!!:bounce:

Floridaminnie.....What's the name of your book as I might hit Barnes and Nobles over the weekend? Yes, I agree 6th grade is lots of fun!!!::yes::

I start the day with a math riddle too. The kids are starting to get pretty good at them now! My book is at school, but I will bring it home tonight and post some later for you.

Although I teach 4 fourth grade, I start math class each day with a problem from the math game called "24." There are many different levels. The students seem to look forward to it!
