Has anyone ever taken part in those online surveys that pay you? The cost to start up is anywhere from $14.99-$40.00. Is this a scam? Has anyone heard good or bad things about this? Please let me know. Thanks.

I wouldn't pay to take them. You can't get rich this way, but try greenfieldonline.com. I have taken about 25-30 surveys this year with them. They don't pay super well, but they do pay. My most recent check for the last 3 months was $26.00. I don't know of anyone who has gotten a substantial amount of money by taking surveys.

I have signed up with several survey websites - all of them for free - and have not been very dedicated to checking the new e-mail address set up for them. Even with all that, though, I just cashed out with $6 from one site after about a month or so of doing this. I figure that's just bonus money since it really didn't take me very much time at all. You probably won't get rich, but it's an easy way to pick up a few extra dollars here or there. Also, check on the Rewards Board....there was a long post of free sites you can sign up with a while back that might be good to get you started.

---edited --- double post Sorry!

My favorite is Reward TV. You answer questions about the shows (and commercials) you watched the night before.
I've earned (3) $5 gift certificates and (1) $10 gift certificate in the three months I've been doing it. It's not cash but it will help with our trip because we're driving and the gift certificates are for food and gas.
Free to join and there are several ways to spend your points - auctions, gift cert., or entries into drawings. Check it out!

I got the info from another thread on here. I used mysurvey.com. If you only spend 45 minutes total for answering the questions - that's pretty good hourly wage!! They paid with a check payable to me very quickly :D

bscs - DEFINITELY stay away from any company or site that makes you PAY THEM to sign up! That is a huge scam. Any reputable company will not charge you a fee to participate. You could pay the money and have no guarantee that you will ever recoup your cost yet alone make a profit.

I have been doing mysurvey.com since before they became an online survey company. I used to get forms in the mail from them every month and I started my girls' college education accounts with money I got from them. I get about $10 a month by just answering surveys from them and that doesn't count the free cereal, deoderant, laundy deturgent and stuff they have sent me to test.

So as others have said I wouldn't pay to do the surveys there are enough out there to do them for free and get paid.

Check out the Survey Thread on the Rewards board. Dont pay someone for a service you can get for free.

I have been using the online search engine www.searchcactus.com to make a few dollars for Disney. The pay isn't huge, but for a few minutes of time each day, I've cashed in about $65.00 over the past year or so - between my husband's account and mine. It might be worth checking in to.

They also have a referral program so that if you refer any friends, you would earn a percentage of what they make.

I just wanted to add that I've been doing seachcactus.com for a couple of years now and they do pay on a regular basis. They are a legitimate company. I've cashed out several times and they always have paid me in the promised amount of time.
