I need DVC help...

I know its not the correct place but I don't know anyone over there, so I am asking here if you all do not mind.

We did buy DVC and we got points for 08 because blt is not open yet. These points have to be used elsewhere or banked to be used in the passport collection only. However I cant find my points on the website. What am I overlooking?



****** Never mind! I called and waited and waited ........and then someone answered all my questions! And nicely on top of it. Apparently what I was talking about are developer points and they are not mine so they will not be on the site. However they are mine to use. So confusing but I will get it, sometime.

Just a side note...

Developer points can't be banked. They have to be used within the 1st year of purchase.... or I should say that *use* to be the rules....

Thanks, I called and they told me that I have untilk 2011 if I use them in the world showcase. If I want to use them at Disney I only have until Oct.

Does that sound wrong?

I'm a little confused. I'm guessing your use year is why the points have to be used before October. "Developer points" I have no clue about, etc. Perhaps that's a perk of your closing? Either way -- you're not yet in the typical dvc mode where your actual points are reflected on the dvcmember website. At least that's my guess.

Developer points aren't shown on the dvc site. You have one year to book and use them from the date of purchase. I am not sure on the limitations of use... ours could be used anyway we wanted.

I would definitely clarify to make sure you get them booked in time to be used....

I think that we are just going to use them somewhere else and have a big week long party with friends! There is no way I can goto Disney before October!!

My guess is because Bay Lake was not open when we bought they gave us these to use elsewhere. My actual use year begins in Feb.

DP points are just a low cost incentive to get people to buy into DVC. Its much cheaper then offering discounts on the per point rate.

Most DPs are restricted to certain resorts (ours can only be used at SSR) and are valid for 12 months from the date of contract signature. When trading out into RCI (formerly II) there are different restrictions that vary from the above.
