My daughter is having a scrapbook birthday party. So, the $1 Spot was awesome for us. I bought 20 of those scrapbooks. Any ideas on how I can spruce up the plain brown outside?

What about leaving them BLANK, and have all the girls create scrapbook covers at the party??

I was going to have them decorate them. I just need some ideas on how to decorate them. I have a few rubber stamps, but was wondering what else.

What about using Craft Foam and some sizzix die cuts? Or buy a tub of them already cut. They have letters and shapes. I have two tubs that I have left over from decorating frames at my DD's last birthday --The girls LOVED them. Wal-Mart had soem glue pens in the craft section that were cheap and each girl could have one. They were really creative. Of course you could pre-decorate with "Sally's Scrapbook" or something like that.

Joann's had those cute Kid's Camp foam letters on clearance a while back, and you might still be able to locate a bag of those.

Also, yesterday at Wal Mart I saw cute boxes of "Princess" themed foamie stickers. Really cute, and I think one box should be plenty. You could just buy some pink and purple paper to match and use your stamps. I'm going to try to get to Target today to look at those books.

I was just going to suggest picking up a tub of foam letters and a tub of the foam princess things. The girls will love that. watch for them to go on sale, or use the michaels and joanns coupons for 40% off.

How about decoupage (Modge-Podge)?? That way they could put almost anything on their covers, like rubber stamps, pictures, stickers, die cuts, etc. I talked DD into not having the premade fabric books covers for her school books this year by agreeing to decoupage the brown paper covers. They came out great! Her social studies book has two pictures from our Disneyland trip this summer. Her math book has some die cut flowers all over it. And I gave her free rein of my alphabets to make her book titles. They could design the cover and you could do the decoupaging (depending on their age). It should be dry enough in about an hour or so to handle it to take it home. Just a thought.................P

I really like this idea. I wonder what I could get to put on the front, though. I don't want to put actual photos. What else can I use besides photos?

Rubber stamps, stickers, die cuts, magazine cutouts, clip art from the computer,...... or how about decoupaging bits of colored tissue for kind of a mosaic look??? Just some thoughts..........P

This is a birthday party, right? They could decoupage bits of paper from the wrapping paper, which is often to pretty to throw away.
