I need advice from the guys out there

I would suggest checking the menus on allears and planning out where you want to eat based on whether they have stuff he likes. That way you're not starving and trying to find somewhere to eat only to find that the nearby places don't serve what you want.

My dad is a really picky eater (from the deep south and weird), but we were able to find stuff that he approves of without too much effort. We went to Blue Bayou (filet, asked for no bearnaise), Hungry Bear, goofy's Kitchen, Taste Pilots Grill, Village Haus, Golden Horseshoe, Plaza... I'm sure there were more, but they were all really good.

OH MAH GAWD! NO béarnaise sauce... I ask for extra sauce myself. Steak was amazing!

K so you got the bengal kebab place that is so so, I would recommended blue bayou over any place in the restort (including steak house and club 33). That's disneyland. For California adventure I'd go with the greek food now I know you said plain food but you can't go wrong with greek. Also I love the flatbread pizza and everybody loves that anyway.

Hamburger? Village haus (I call it pinnochios), tomorrow land, the test kitchen, and finally big thunder bbq!

Eveyone loves the carnation chicken but me. It's okay but I'm not a fan.

My husband really likes the steak sandwich at Carnation cafe, as well as the ribs from Taste Pilot's Grill.

DH's Favorites:

Goofy's Kitchen Breakfast (haven't been for dinner, but want to!)
Blue Bayou
Naples (great pizza and spag/meatballs!)
...and he wanted me to add: Nachos from White Water Snacks
