My TA doesn't have a clue what I am talking about, she said there is no code for AAA. Could someone please IM the code so that I can give it to her. I really think she is the only agent there and I am about to lose my mind trying to explin things to her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA :headache:

It's not a code it's a personal membership number which is private. Most will not check for rates if you don't have a card.

The code is public knowledge...posted on mousesavers.com

YRE for MYW w/out dining
YRD for MYW w/dining

I thought she was talking about the AAA number. Those codes aren't AAA codes they are for anyone aren't they?
I also don't think you can combine because the codes are for packages with or without dining. Someone said you can't stack discounts it's either AAA or the codes, maybe you'll get lucky.

I think the OP has a AAA card. :confused3

I have the AAA membership, the TA said there are no codes to be applied for AAA members other than the Disney codes, and many others have booked using a different code unless I am misunderstanding something.

She said her TA, so I am assuming that she is already a member of AAA, so she would know her own AAA membership number.

Yes the codes I listed are for anyone, including AAA members. I had my AAA TA apply them to my existing ressie. The codes weren't combined. TA applied the new code, essentially overriding the existing AAA discount because the new codes gave me better savings and the bonus of hoppers plus.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the OP. I thought she was having trouble getting her AAA TA to apply the new codes.

OK So unless you want the premium passes it may not work as an advantage correct? How much of a saving is it? It's confusing BECAUSE it only works with a package, so for me as an AP holder it's no good. How about buying a one day park ticket and not activating it? I may look into that because I would like the the dining. The BRP isn't available for me yet so I need to wait on that. More confused? sorry!!

Just to add a little to the confusion, I believe that during the las code cycle -- the November and December 2005 codes -- there actually were special AAA codes for packages that only AAA travel agents could use. For those who got them, they were slightly better than the disney package codes.

This time, however, there are not. You can either book an AAA room only discount yourself or through any TA. You can only book an AAA package -- which is just a MYW package with the AAA room only discount built in -- only through an AAA TA. You can book the new MYW packages with discounts yourself, or with any agent, including an AAA agent, who will just get you the same deal that anyone else could have gotten you, which may (probably will, but might not) beat the AAA discount.

Here's the lowdown. The current MYW package being offered through disney is simple to calculate. It's $85.33 per MYW ticket, plus 10 percent off rack for the room. If you don't need the premium add on features to the MYW tickets, the AAA deals are better, because they are generally 15 to 20 percent off rack for the room depending on season and resort.

But not always. I didn't really "need" the add-ons. I had booked a package with dining & hoppers thru AAA at a fair discount. Having the new code (YRD) applied saved me an additional $90 and got me the add-ons, so I guess we will try & use them.

It may not work this way for everyone, but I saved even more with the code.

Hmm, that would be inconsistent with what I said. That's interesting. Would you mind posting the terms of your deals for public analysis! It appears that I might be giving misinformation. If your original package included the AAA discount, it shouldn't work out that you are saving $90 plus getting the pluses. I'd be really interested to know your before and after deals. In the meantime, I guess, disregard what I said above, because it appears I'm wrong.

Okie dokie!
My original package thru AAA was with dining and hoppers (6 days) at CSR for 2A, 1C. The total was 1935.71 (Dates 2/1-2/7)

Now I have all of the above and the plusses. My new total is $1846.16

I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but this is how mine worked out.

Interesting. FWIW, that's a better deal than you can get through the disney web site right now. Your package, with code, using the web site, would come out to $1905. So somehow you got a very good deal. You're basically getting more than 18 percent off rack for the room, plus the hopping and plusses for free. That's as good as I've heard, but also means what I said above was wrong. (Although the numbers were wrong, the concept is still right, though.)

Under your AAA package, you were getting 20 off rack for the room, but no break on the tickets. Essentially, the $90 extra that you're getting off is due to the free hopping -- you were going to have to pay about $90 for the hopping under the AAA package, and now you don't have to.

I realize now that I wasn't that clear above. When I was talking about the "premium" add ons to the ticket, I meant BOTH the hopping and the plusses. If you don't need hopping or the plusses, then a good portion of the savings of the new package isn't really saving you any money. Still, my assumption was that the AAA discount off rack is greater than the MYW code discount off rack for the room, and I still think that's generally the case although not in your case -- you got a great deal.

Well, I don't know how you figured it. I am not good with that stuff. For some reason, it seems I am saving more than most with the new discount. Now, I just hope my AAA TA didn't screw up somehow! I am worried...and I may have to ask her to list out for me everything included in the price just to make sure.

If she has everything right, it would mean I saved $422.82 over rack for everything included (dining, hoppers plus).

Man, now I am nervous!

ETA: When I go on disney & check with the code, I got $1898.77, not sure why there is a difference btw that & what you quoted...

I just checked with my agent re YRD and she said that it's only available as of January. Do you know of any "bonus codes" thru AAA for 2005?

I'm sure it's correct. Don't worry about it. Either way, you're in the right ballpark. I don't know why I got different numbers on the web site. I did mine pretty quickly -- I just looked for the rate without the package and then added the cost of dining, which I calculated around $525, so it could be off by a few bucks.
