I need help finding a vaction home that is under 100 per night for Thanksgiving please help

Hmm....that's going to be tough, it's holiday (high) season in terms of rates.
What size home do you need? How many guests? (start there) Decide how many bedrooms you want, since that is how all of the homes are advertised / listed. Amenities? Do you want a pool? (Cut out the pool and pool heat and you should be able to find something less expensive too).

It's pretty far off though, so there should still be the pick of the litter in terms of places to choose from, but you're not going to get the premium resorts at that rate most likely.

I would suggest looking at some of the places that are further away from WDW (like 15-20 minutes out)... Davenport, Clermont, other towns are less expensive due to the location. We haven't stayed in any place like this so can't personally recommend or tell you to avoid any places in particular, maybe someone else here can!

www.vrbo.com is a good place to look.

http://www.thedibb.co.uk/villa/map.htm The Dibb has a map of the area resorts, you can look up a place by the location once you know where you're looking, again, the further out places tend to be less expensive, but the holiday factor is working against you.

You also might consider visiting a week earlier or a week later when the rates are significantly lower (usually considered low season versus the peak rate). You will also find the parks less crowded, and places like priceline.com will give you much better rates on rental cars.

Another thought for saving some $$....if you get a small group of people together, you can rent one of the larger homes / villlas. The 5-6-7 bedroom houses are more economical if you split it up between several families, you end up paying a lower cost per family (in general) than one family staying in a smaller unit. 4 years ago we had 3 families go and rent an 8 bedroom / 8 bathroom mansion in Cape Coral FL for $1400 for the whole week (yes... we each paid under $500!), although that's an extreme example!

Tough time to find good deals since it's such a busy / popular season, much like Xmas, Easter, etc, but best of luck!

We are renting this home in June for $80 a night. It 4 bed/ 3 bath in Westridge. I haven't seen it in person but the owner has been very helpful. http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/3518.html

Just an FYI, the travel time estimates are exagerated. It's 15 MILES to the edge of WDW property from there, and unless you can travel the entire distance at 60 mph, never having to stop for a light or traffic (trust me, you can't in that area), you'd better plan on 20+ minutes to the AK, half an hour to Epcot, and 45 minutes to the MK parking lot, with another 15 minutes or more to actually get to the gate.

The house we're renting Christmas week is a 3/3 in the Esprit community and it's $750 for the week, including tax and pool heat. We found it on Online Florida Villas. If you plug in those features you should find it.

It it for the 6 of you? I counted 7 faces but only 6 people listed in your sig. :) Are you interested in a vacation home for the pool, or just for the extra space?

I'm not sure what they go for during a holiday week, but Windsor Palms (or Hills) has 3 br townhomes and 3 bedroom condos that should sleep your family. Most of the ones I've looked at have 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 twins. Can the older girls share? They have full kitchens, washer/dryer, 2 or 3 bathrooms and a screened patio. There is a community pool & clubhouse, plus a playground for the little ones.

some of the townhouses have splash pools too.

There will be 7 of us. My family and my dad. I would really like a pool. Do you think it will be to cold then? I can not change the dates due to my husband's job has man dadted vactions. Thanksgiving week, Christmas week and the fourth of July. The July vation my dh dose not want to go because of the heat and neither dose my dad. so Thanksgiving is the only option! :cheer2:

It will probably be too cold to swim in late November without the pool heat being on. Most places charge between $10/day and $100/week or more to turn on the pool heat.

Yes, but they're also in the best location there is, 2 miles to the parks, and on thanksgiving which is everyone's highest rates you're not going to get a place with pool heat and taxes included for under $100 a night! Our published rates on thanksgiving are $155/night, for instance, some are higher, some are lower, but there's also no reason to discount, as we must have turned down over 100 people this past November alone! Pool heat is normally $15/night or $95-100/week. The reason I suggested a place further out is they are less expensive due to the added drive time...and yes, it will take you longer to get to the parks than they are telling you, ESPECIALLY at thanksgiving when everything is jam packed traffic wise. You might try for a Windsor Palms condo...no pool...but condos are less expensive than townhomes / villas (since they don't have their own private pool..but you still have the resort pool). Windsor Palms is also slightly less expensive than Windsor Hills since it's 15 years older, and slightly further away (but still very nice!). You can always go on windsorhillsrent.com and put out a general inquiry to the 3 bedroom homes and see if anyone with a condo responds, these type of inquiries go out to all of the owners of 3 bedroom homes and you will get a ton of responses and varying prices usually based upon things like how nice the place is, their avaialability and bookings, etc. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a good deal, maybe there's a new owner or someone desperate to get some bookings! (Although the whole timeframe really works against you).. good luck!

I would strongly suggest booking something now though...as of now most people are open, and the early bird definitely gets the worm! I can't believe how far in advance people make their vacation reservations! We personally never booked this far in advance but our place is booked solid through next summer already.

You can go on fabvillas.com and send out a general inquiry to all the condo/house owners. They have a section that you can fill out with your requirements including price/pool/location. I did this last month and got about 60 people respond. It took me a couple hours to narrow down my favorites, but got everything I was looking for.

I'd think any community pool would be heated, so that's something to think about.

Yes the community pools should be heated and for a private home most charge $25.00 to $30.00 per day for pool heat. In November you would definately want pool heat. We were there the end of Nov begining of Dec. this year and pool heat was a must!

Some of them are not. For example, in Feb '05, Glenbrook's community pool wasn't. It may have been a transient thing, but it might not have.

If you are focusing on the parks, and need to save money, perhaps the heated pool is expendable. Fact is, though, you are going at a fairly busy time, and the very best deals will be had only far in advance---there are unlikely to be good deals at the last minute. It's not too early to start contacting prospective owners right now.

I need pool heat. I live in Ny and I do not swim here unless pool heat or 90. I do not want the resort pool....then I have to get out and walk back to my place in the cold :headache: that is not for me at all! So I need a town house or home with a private pool. :grouphug:

Hehe...we're from Chicagoland so we're the same way...crank up the pool heat! We keep it on in May even, and had it on on Sept too!
