no scratch that, I need a new life. :scared:

My seizures are acting up again so I went to the dx and I told him I've been under a lot of stress lately. Health stress, worries, my mom's health, etc. He happens to see my arms. I thought I had a sunburn even though I hadn't been in the sun too long. (I burn easy) He looks at them and goes, "This is not sunburn. This is a rash. You're breaking out in a rash due to stress."

I've been ordered to take the rest of the week off and to watch my stress level. Oh Lordy, that's gonna be hard. I love my job and hate to get away from it. (I'm a travel writer.)

oh man, I am so sorry!!

I do understand the needing a new life. Enjoy your time off and pamper yourself.

I get rashes from stress too. Just last week the back of me and my neck and the front from my chest up to my cheeks were all prickly.

I also need a new life and a vacation.

i feel your pain, and that explains the rash on the back of my neck and arms. LOTS of stress around here lately. i also need a life and a vacation. *sigh* sucks when you're a growup and you never figured out what you wanted to be when you grew up.

I always say that stress will find a way to show itself. Right now I'm dealing with an angry stomach.

I sympathize and hope that you can get everything under control. :hug

:hug::hug:I am right there with ya. Sunday morning i became sick with my epilipsy.

I have been seizure free for 3 years, off all meds, and gave blood--Well, that triggered something.

I had a set of seizures a month ago, and now again on sunday.

I hate the "after feeling." I am slow to think, slow to move, and i am very nervous right now.

If you ever need to talk, feel free to pm me.

I have been dealing with family health issues lately also, but if you love your job and it is not the thing causing you stress, taking time off from that may not be the answer!

Hope things resolve for you soon.

My neuro, whom I loved dearly (silly man retired, now I don't love my current one nearly so much :sad2:) gave me a really good visual one day to explain how the brain works in regards to seizures. (I have complex partials, well controlled by meds)

He said to picture a brick wall. The brick wall keeps seizure activity separated from everyday neurotypical life. The potential for seizure activity exists in everyone's brains, but for most people, it can't get "over the brick wall". For those of us who suffer from seizures, our brick walls aren't as tall or as strong as neurotypical people. So when outside influences act on our walls, it is easier for our walls to get town down, or "lowered". Those outside influences can be as varied as sleep deprivation, dietary or environmental triggers, stress, hormones, flashing lights, or too much noise. Depending on what each person is sensitive to, these things chip away at the walls and allow the seizure activity to spill over the top. Medications help us to build these walls higher and stronger to keep the activity "behind the wall", so to speak.

I know, personally, that my triggers are dietary (artificial sweeteners and MSG), hormonal (couple of times a month, like clockwork, my seizures worsen) and sleep deprivation. If I get over-tired, look out. As long as I avoid these triggers and take my meds, my "brick wall" stays strong enough and high enough to control the seizure activity. In the case of things I can't control (hormones, etc) I take an adjunctive therapy med (extra med added in just at those times of the month) to build the wall even higher.

So anyhow, long story short, I know exactly what you are feeling. Your high levels of stress are tearing down your wall, and it isn't any fun at all. Many many hugs, and I hope you are able to get some rest and reduce your stress.

I hope you are feeling better soon!

I don't envy any of you taking anti-seizure meds. I had to take some last winter for nerve pain, and one of them made me emotionally unstable. I hated it!

I need a vacation, too, and it's not until the middle of August.

I have had a lot of work stress lately, enough so I have developed a little twitch under my right eye. Argh!
