We are first timers :cool1:
I bought the Unofficial Guide & have printed out their TPs. I can't find a TP for AK that fits our needs. We have 4yo & 7yo. The 4yo is 43 inches, so not tall enough to ride EE. The 7 yo definitely wants to ride EE (DH & I would love to ride it too, but I'd give it up if it makes more sense for me to be somewhere else with the 4yo) Not sure if it matters, but none of us are interested in Dinosaur.

So going into the park what is my best strategy? Do we get the FP for EE or head straight to Safari? I want to be sure to get both of these in (and Kali), before FPs run out. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

I'd get EE Fastpass...

Then head over to the Safari and ride it (if you are there at rope drop, you shouldn't need a FP).

Then head over to Kali, on the way there to the Maharajah Jungle Trek, and the Pangani Forest trail. By the time you finish those, and reach Kali it should be time to pick up the next FP.

Then ride EE, watch Nemo, and then head over to Rafiki's plant watch.

When you come back, you should be able to ride Kali at any time.

All you have left to do is Camp Minnie Mickey (and FOLTK), Tough to be a bug, and Dinoland (which you said you aren't that interested in).

Good luck.

oh, and try to fit in Flights of Wonder. Check schedule for times. :)

If you get there when AK opens you shouldn't have any problem getting FP for both EE and Safari.

I would as you enter have DH take all 4 tickets and head over to EE to grab 4 FP. The rest of you head to Safari. If your DH hurries and you take your time along the way checking out things and maybe taking a few pictures you can meet up at Safari about the same time. All 4 of you ride Safari. As you get off Safari if your FP for EE time has come, grab 4 more FP for Safari for later.

Head over to EE. Have DH and 7 y/o ride it using FP. You and 4 y/o head over to Dinoland and let 4 y/o explore the Boneyard. It's pretty cool and he/she won't feel like the are missing out on anything. Make sure to check out the area where they can uncover a dino skeleton. After your DH is done have them come over to the Boneyard and you and he exchange places. Then you can ride EE with 7 y/o. :goodvibes

Before, or after, you ride EE, if your FP time has come for Safari grab another 2 or 4 FP for EE if you think you will want to ride again (using same strategy). After done with EE head back over to Boneyard and meet up with family. Then you could see Nemo or go ride Kali. Walk the Maharajah Jungle Trail and see some really cool bats and tigers, etc.

The Lion King Show is an awesome show, and it is air conditioned! ;)

Using FP (try not to let too much time lapse between when they are good for and when you get the next one) you should be able to ride the rides you want once, twice or even more. You can also use 2 FP and 1 child swap for 4 rides on EE. All you have to do is show the CM at the FP line the child who isn't riding. 2 ride EE with FP. Then after that 2 can ride using the Child Swap pass.

Have a great time, we love AK. Take your time and check out some of the things off the beaten path.;)

I would do Child Swap for Expedition Everest.

We just got back (just!!!) and DS and DD, 6 and 5, both LOVED EE, which surprised me, (mostly because it scared the crap out of their mother )

Just a thought, make sure the 7 year old doesn't want to play at the Boneyard. It's a rockin' playground and she might feel sad to have missed it.

I agree. After the 7 y/o rides EE (twice) then you can all meet up and to the Boneyard. My DD11 still enjoys doing it, and really loved it at that age. I didn't mind sitting and watching her dig out the dino under the fans and misters either!;)

We usually go to the Safari ride first. I have a similar situation where my DD loves rollercoasters and DS can't go on yet so we do a rider swap on EE and DD gets to go on twice that way. Both kids love the Nemo show and I take DS to the boneyard to play while DD is on anything he won't/can't go on...of course DD has to play there too for a bit when we meet up.
