We will be at DLR for one Saturday only (in fact from about noon on). We would like a place to eat in the park but don't want to spend a lot of time in a sit down place. We will be going to the DL side first. Are there any good counter service restaurants there or are they mostly in DCA? I can't remember.

Thanks!!!

Depends on what you want. My family likes Red Rockets in Tomorrow land. The pasta and salads are great! The pizza is ok, but not our fav. Burgers at the Hungry bear are pretty good, but the service always seems very slow there, so dont count on "quick". We all love the chowder in a bread bowl at the Royal St. Veranda in NOS as well. Oh, and the corn dogs at the corn dog cart at the end of main street.

Hmmm, Red Rockets. Thanks - I'll check into it.

You might also consider The Stage Door Cafe; I found that to be very quick...or maybe just a turkey leg from the turkey leg stand or a corn dog from the corn dog wagon.

I agree the Pizza Port is pretty good. The kids love the pasta, and salads. And they also have pizza, breadsticks. You can get different sauces etc. Small deserets (rice krispies, etc). But is very quick, usually busy though.

The stagedoor cafe was a new one for me this year. My son wanted something to eat before Fantasmic and these people sitting around us had gone there. He got the chicken strips which came with a dipper cup on the side. I have to admit they were the best chicken strips I have had in a long time, he loved them, and refused to share after the first bite.

My husband loves the corn dogs, always has a line also so be prepared. But they don't have anything there but corn dogs and soda.

If you can wait til DCA, then WWS is a good option...

My advice would be the Bengal Bar-b-Que for a beef/chicken/pork kabob and a veggie kabob. Later grab a Dole Whip for dessert.

Second choice would be either the Hungry Bear Restaurant or the little snack shack next to the Snow White Show (they have sandwiches & great desserts).

Both the Bengal BBQ & Snow White Shack are on death row (scheduled for replacement) so I'd make those a priority and save the others for a future visit.

In DCA, the hot dog place in the Hollywood main street and Strips N Dips both have pretty good and won't take up too much time.

WHAT?????!!!!! :scared1: :faint:
Any idea when? I will need to make a special trip to get my fix of some Bengal BBQ.

It was scheduled to close later this year (Sep-Oct) for the expansion of the River Belle Terrace to become a 2-Story Dining location. Those plans have been delayed, so there is a chance for a reprieve for the Bengal BBQ, but there is a lot of support for the expansion. It's my understanding that the space is needed to expand the RBT terrace kitchen to accomodate the additional meal demand.
