I need a new author

DH and I love the David and Leigh Eddings books like the Belgariad and the Sparhawk series. The stories are so good and the humor is great. Does anyone know of another SciFi/fantasy writer that is as good?

I'm a big Piers Anthony fan. His Xanth series is very light fantasy. I prefer the Apprentic Adept series, which is a combination of sci-fi and fantasy. The first book in that series is titled <i>Split Infinity.</i>

I also like his Incarnations of Immortality series. The first book in that series is <i> On A Pale Horse. </i>

For straight Sci-Fi, he has the Bio of a Space Tyrant series, beginning with <i>Refugee.</i>

He also has single books, both sci-fi, fantasy, or a combination of both. I have almost all his books.

Have you read "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett? Imagine the Book of Revelations from the Bible as rewritten by Monty Python. GREAT book! Gaiman has a new book out called "American Gods." I haven't read it yet but want to.

If you like alternate history, definitely check out Harry Turtledove's novels. Not too much humor, but great stories. I'd be glad to give you a rundown and suggestions of which ones to start with if you'd like. Just PM me.

This isn't Sci Fi/Fantasy genre, which I love, but I have been reading Janet Evanovich. She is on book 8 of a series of crime type fiction, but her style is easy to read, flows really well, and is laugh out loud funny with some of the things that happen with the main characters. I'll have to think on what Sci Fi type stuff I've read... Have you read Michael Cricton's Timeline? That was an incredible book. Like my aunt and uncle said when they gave it to me, the pages turn themselves...

If you like humorous Scifi/fantasy try Robert Aspirin's Myth series or Phule's Company. Both of these series are a riot! I just finished the latest Myth book which we've been waiting for for 7 years. It was worth the wait. These books are now being re-published with 2 books per book (if you know what I mean).
