So here is my story my friend and I are doing the "free dining". I had already made my reservations using the "bounce back program"last year and she was going to use this years "free dining" promotion but when the dates ended sooner than we hoped for we had to go to plan "B" which was me moving my Husband to another room and adding her husband and child to that room we then added her to our room(we did that so we wouldn't be charged for another adult in her room) of course everyone is going to stay with their families its just that way in the computer. The CM's suggested we do this so we are not breaking any rules I don't think.

But here is my real question: once we get to POFQ can we move everyone back to their rooms in the computer so our "free dining" cards will be correct because if we leave it like it is then my husband and my friend will not be able to use their cards for food because they will be using the other families food credits?

Has anyone everyone ever had this problem and how did they fix it or make it work? Any sugguestions?

Thanks

Is the additional adult charge really worth this hassle?

The KTTW cards are tied to the reservation, so the cards will reflect the reservation and the persons on the reservation.

So unless you take this complexity another step further and keep swapping cards or you use their credits and they use yours, I can't see how you can work this out.

I am confused. How many people are traveling? Is your friend getting free dining? The way I am reading it is that there will be two adults in one room. And two adults and a child in the other room.

That's how I'm reading it. If that is the case, it all works out fine. Adult credits are adult credits, the child credits are seperate anyways. The only issue would be charging to the room, but that could be worked out.

OK, I am really confused here. :confused3 I have read the OPs post 3x. I don't understand why the 2 DHs are booked in a room and the 2 DWs in a separate room. Why aren't the family units together?:confused3 You have 2 adults in one room and 2 adults and 1 child in the other - A room for the boys and a room for the girls.

I am going out on a limb here and am going to assume that OP is paying for the girls' room and her friend is paying for the boys' room. Can't you just switch the room keys? DH1 & DW1 in girls' room; DH2, DW2 & DC in boys' room? :confused3

Here's my interpretation of the OP:

She booked bounceback last year for her and her husband. Her friend planned to book the general public free dining package when it was offered. However, the bounceback free dining period had a different ending date than the public free dining period and they were going at the end of the bounceback period, so the OP's friend could not book a stay for the same time period. SO, the OP changed her reservation so that she and her DH are in separate rooms so they'd have the bounceback free dining for 2 rooms. Then, she added her friend to her room and her friend's DH and child to the 2nd room. That way there are 2 adults in each room, but the OP and her DH had to be separated to get the 2 bounceback rooms. Anyway, that's how I interpret the situation.

To answer the original question, I don't think you can move people around once you get there, so yes, it looks like you'll have to have one spouse in each room that is responsible for using the card to access the dining credits. Also, the second person in each room won't be able to use the room charge.

Yes Claire&andtheboys you are correct. Also in my room there are 2 more kids, one that is considered an adult and another a child, that is where my problem is our room will have more credits because we will have 2 adults, 15yr ds and 5yr ds and then the other room will only have 2 adults and a 5yr old.

But from what you are saying you think I will not be able to switch my husband and friend back into the right families rooms so our "free dining" credits will be correct and we wouldn't have to mess around with our "free dining" credits, it would make it so much easier if we could just move the adults back to their correct room when we get to the resort..

Anyone else?

PS: Madonna3: to answer your question in reference to the $10 adult charge- Yes I would rather figure a way around this before paying another $10 a night($60 for the trip) which we would rather spend on something else.

Not sure if this will help but when we stayed at the WL back in 2006 I asked for connecting rooms as my DS & DIL was going with us. They gave DH & myself the one queen bed & bunkbeds & my DS & DIL had two queens beds. We just switch rooms told the front desk & they had no problem. Not sure if this help out. Good luck

I have a question, you have 4 adults so why would you have to pay for an extra adult per night charge? (NEVER MIND, READ YOUR POST AGAIN, You don't get charged for the extra adult until they are 18.

Also, I am not clear on Bounceback offers, but couldn't you have just booked 2 rooms, your name on 1 and your friends on the other so you would have had everyone in their right family rooms?

Where's the extra adult? The 15 year old is an adult for dining purposes, but not for room charges.

On the bounce back program we could book two rooms but since we didn't book two rooms before we left the resort last Sept the CM said to book two rooms at this point(when the free dining was opened to the public) we would have to have my name on one room and my DH's name on the other to get the "bounce back Free dining special" for both rooms.

So we did this and now I'm wondering if when we check in to the resort if they care how/when we booked the rooms and if they would let us switch my husband back to our room and my friend back to her room and not have our name on her reservation which we had to do to book it, I hope this is making sence, if not and no one has ever done this on the dis boards I guess I will have to wait until we check in and I'll ask if I can do this, can't hurt to ask right? Thanks for the help

Going out on a limb here, but if you all show up at the front desk, explain who will be in which room (even ask for a supervisor or manager if necessary) they may do this for you...but then you will go back to having an extra adult in one room...although...

I am also confused about the extra adult - if DS is 15, he is not an adult in the resort, only for dining credits, so who is the 3rd adult in your room(sorry, that sounds soo personal!)? :confused3

Hope this all works out perfectly and easily!!:goodvibes

I think the OP is just thinking of her son as an adult in terms of the dining credits because the two rooms aren't equal in terms of the credits allocated to each. Also, that is why they didn't book the friend, friend's DH and child into the same room that has the OP's DH on the reservation; it would have been 3 A/1 C on that room; to avoid the extra adult fee, they had to split both couples so there are only 2 A in each room (leaving the kids out of it).

OP, you should look through some threads here on the Resort board and look for a poster with the screen-name something like Fall08CP. That poster is working at a resort as a front-desk CM right now. If you send a private message (click on the screen-name to get this option), you might be able to ask if it is possible to switch the occupants around on arrival. That is someone who will definitely know - the rest of us are just guessing.
