Without going into detail, my DS in basic training is going through a tough trial. He has done very well but has one more tough hurdle to get over. If my DIS friends could please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, I am confident he can succeed.

I have seen many posts praising the power of this wonderful group. Thanks a bunch for doing this for us. I will let you know how he does.

2/8: Mike called for a short time today. He has testing again tomorrow and has been working hard to get his run time down. He is so depressed and I fear his attitude will be a problem. I suggested he go talk with the duty sargent, hoping he will get some encouragement. He excelled at all his class work and all the "soldier" stuff. He was often asked to help the other guys. He needs this and wants this so badly. Any good thoughts, prayers, Pixie dust will be greatly appreciated for my boy.

Thanks again,
Cordia

I'm proud of him for just trying. It took a lot of guts to join, especially right now. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers, but I know he'll be ok. :)

Praying that your son has strength and courage and that he perseveres.

Thank him for us. Just to be there shows great courage.

Your son must be a very special person. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

 Prayers going out to you and your family, especially your DS. What an honorable and brave duty he is undergoing.

Prayers and good thoughts to your brave son! You must be so proud.

Of course he will succeed! Just remind him once basic is over, things will be much more relaxed and he will enjoy his independance. Tell him to hang in there. It's tough for everyone. You hang in there too. I know you can't help but stress over your childs emotional state. Will you be able to go to graduation? Just keep doing what you are doing and support him through this. Will be over soon.

Prayers being said for you and your son. Tell him to hang in there and that we are all rooting for him, as well as being very proud of him.

Prayers and good thoughts for your ds, Cordia. May he have the strength he needs to see him through...

I hope everything is okay with your son, I am sure he is going a great job.

I will keep your son in my prayers, RNmom.

My DS8 is absolutely infatuated with military men since 9/11....they are his heroes. He says to tell your son that your son can do it 'cause army men are tough dudes and my son wants to be like your son someday. Tell your son that one 8 year old in Central Illinois thinks he is one cool dude and a real life honest to goodness hero for serving his country (and so does that 8 year old's mom!).

Cordia, Prayers and good thoughts going out for your DS. It's so hard when they leave our homes and are getting their wings. I'll say another prayer for you too!:D

just wanted to add my best wishes to your DS. When my DS was in basic, I would go to our local newspapers website and print the daily headlines out for him. They are not allowed to have outside newspapers, but just that one page was enough to get him through some rough days. It gave him a little outside news, but it didn't break the rules. Good- luck to him!!!

I'll keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers. It must be so hard to have him away and knowing he's having to go through some really tough trials. If he has come this far, I'm sure he has the strength to go the distance, and hopefully with all the prayers and pixie dust it won't be too difficult.:D

I'll keep your brave DS in my prayers, as well as you too!!

 Your boy will do great, Cordia. We know he will. Please pass on our good wishes along with our thanks for his sacrifice and dedication. Prayers are with him, and you guys also.
