A big, loud box type fan. Need it to get the kids to sleep.

If we were driving, we would just throw it in the back of the van. But we are flying. Last time we flew (2000), we used Tiffany Towncars and they stopped at a super Walmart & we bought one. This time, they said they only stop at Publix.

Any suggestions???

I am getting desparate!!!

You might be surprised, Publix could have them. What about a sound machine? We have a small one that makes a fan noise and you can turn the sound up pretty loud. That you could probably pack.

those box fans are light enough...why don't you ship it to your resort? Although I agree with bruin, Publix may have them.

I have the same problem, but it's for me, not my DH or child, lol. I have a fan that's about 1' x 1' that I take on all my vacations. It's probably about 4" thick and I just pack it in my suitcase. Sometimes I think, "What a hassle" but I am always so glad I did it when I get there. I get really hung up on little noises. I usually can find one at Wal Mart. I do see where Sharper Image has an incredible sound machine with 20 soothing sounds. We listened to it at the mall location, but they are also online. Excellent speakers, but it is 100. It's very small and portable; would fit in a purse. If you have the entertainment book, they all have a coupon for Sharper Image of 10. off. I am really thinking of investing in it for future trips. Good luck.

My counter is acting funny, we're going Oct 4th-10th, if you're going arounf the same time, maybe we can figure something out!

I've had an old boxed fan in my room for years. I can't go to sleep with out it. If there's alot of commotion going on in the house the fan blocks out the noise.

Ditto on the sound machine ...we got one from Walmart, it's an Obusforme brand...8 or so different sounds...cost about $20...and it's a little bigger than a personal CD player...

Has white noise, ocean waves, heartbeat...etc Volume is adjustable, and has an adapter, or you can use batteries.

HTH!!

I know just how you feel! I cannot sleep without my fan going. Even in the dead of winter and 10 below, I have a fan going in my room at night!

I've been pondering what to do for my trip also because I'll never be able to sleep if it's too quiet or with little unknown noises and I wound up buying a small radio/sound machine at Linens and Things that was $20 and and I had a 20% off coupon. I've been "practicing" sleeping with that on instead of the fan and have had no problems. I put on the ocean waves sound and turn up the volume and have been going right to sleep no problem. Fits in my suitcase nicely too.

One time I requested a fan at a hotel (not Disney) and they brought me one no problem. You never know, Disney might have a few fans around in case of A/C problems. Can't hurt to call and ask.

I cant wait to tell my DH that I am not the only one that is this way! He thinks I am nuts!!

I cant sleep without a fan also and I have a small one that I pack in my hardsided suitcase. Its no bigger than a shoe so it fits nice. We tried to find one (I forgot it once) before and had a hard time finding one in FL in March..nobody had fans and all the salespeople we asked said "its wintertime here".

If you can find a small fan then I suggest taking it with you. I put it at my side of the bed as DH doesnt care. I also agree with the prior post..some hotels will bring you one but not sure if Disney does..I guess I never asked.

Have fun! Good luck!

Most airlines allow two checked bags per person. Bring a fan from home, and check it as baggage. Check with your airline to see if it can travel in it's box, (taped shut or factory sealed if new) or find a fan that will fit into a suitcase. Even if the suitcase was large, it sure wouldn't be very heavy.

My dh is a semi-professional cyclist, (Lance Armstrong wanna-be, lol) and you should see the HUGE hard shelled case that we use to take his bike and gear in when we fly to races and such! LOL! The airlines can handle a fan in checked baggage no problem.

You could also purchase one by mail and have it delivered to your resort, or mail one to yourself.
