We've been to Disney once through Make A Wish but this time will be different and we'll spend more time in the actual parks so I need tips/advice. We have 3 days.

What are your best tips for enjoying Disney?

I agree, we can offer better help if we know more information: who's going, when etc.

However, in my opinion, the Unofficial Guide to WDW is the best way to get a crash course to WDW. It's easy to read and has a lot of good information!

Oops, I said 3 days. We actually have 5 days!

Five people, 3 kids under 10. We're going in March. We are staying offsite.

With the restaurants... is it going to take a long time to transfer from park to resort if we book a reservation at a resort? Can we use the bus system even though we're not staying on site?

:) Anyone can take Disney Transportation from a park to a resort. There is no resort to resort transportation. You will have to go to a park or TTC to transfer. Keep in mind park hours when you make late ADRs to make sure the buses can take you back to the park.

It is slow at times but the bus system is part of the vacation planning to me. There is no public transportation where we live so we do not mind the ride. Give yourself at least 1 1/2 hours to travel. If you get there early take time to just look around and enjoy!

We always budget some taxi rides for resort to resort and the nights when we stay until the parks close. $20 at the most for a ride is worth it!

Since you're staying off site, will you have a rental car? It's MUCH quicker to drive yourself to the resorts from the parks.

The best advise I can offer you is slow down. Do not feel like you need to cram everything into 5 days because you won't. Once you are ok with that fact, you can tackle the must do's. But don't try to do too much each day. You'll tire yourself and your family out and it won't be as enjoyable as you'd like it to be.

March is a busy time of year so expect crowds. Try AllEars.net for some helpful hints and planning and of course, this site as there is a planning link at the top of the tool bar here.

You definitely need to go into it with a plan, but expect your plans to change. So, don't stick so close to a schedule that it ends up causing more stress (I say more stress, because you should expect some stress)

In general try to come up with a plan of which parks you want to do each day, and if you are eating at a resort you can plan to go to the park that is nearest to that resort. Just google disneyworld map and you should be able to find an entire map of disney world with all of the resorts and parks.
