I need a cheap (clean) hotel in Tampa

We're stuck flying into Tampa in April the night before our Disney vacation. I'm looking for a cheap (clean) hotel for only 1 night. We get in at 8:00 pm so by the time we get there we will probably just sleep and leave early in the morning for Orlando.

I live in Orlando and my husband and I went down to Tampa/St. Pete for my birthday last year (mid February) and thought we would be "adventureous" and find a hotel when we got there.Well long story short we found nothing under 150 for one night.We drove for ever and finally settled on anything.I think it was a Best Western or something of that sort and paid about 120.We didn't care at that point (so tired).So after my long story the best suggestion I could make to anyone going to that area is to look on Expedia or one of those websites and plan so you can get a good deal.Hope that helps. My husband just returned from a quickly planned trip to Tampa for a funeral service. He and the family members that traveled stayed at the La Quinta. They stayed at one about 15-20 minutes from the airport, but I just looked on the La Quinta website and there are many locations closer to the airport. (they picked the closest to the funeral home) He said it was very clean and comfortable, and served a great complementary "continental" breakfast. There was nothing continental about it... there were fresh waffels, hard boiled eggs, cereals, fresh fruits etc. It seemed to be very nice for the price they paid which was $76/night, and when I looked, the AAA price was $66/night. When we were researching, there were plenty of hotels coming up in the $36 range, but who knows if you would have wanted to stay at such places. Maybe someone who knows more about the chain could tell you more. I know we used to stay at La Quintas off of Disney property when we were kids and don't remember any problems.
