We leave in 15 days for our annual trip and if I don't beat my DH at Buzz Lightyear I will never live it down.
He has beat me everytime for the past three years.
Someone out there must know a secret I can use to win this year.

Thanks!!
Jennib

POR here we come!!!

I've heard that if you just pull the trigger the entire time of playing then there is a better chance for more points. I leave tomorrow and am very excited to try to stay undefeated at Buzz.

In the first room there are some Robots turn backwards and shoot the target on the arm, its worth 100,000 points I believe!

ok...here is the secret to beating him..whileholding the trigger will give you some points, it is only 100 pts every 2 shots...not a noticable difference...

In the first big room there is an orange robot on the left hand side. Shoot the target on his arm and get 25,000 pts per shot...after you pass the robot turn around and hit the target on the back of his hand for 100,000pts per shot.

Throughout the game you will see Zurg on a ship, shoot the target on the bottom of the ship for some mega points also. There are a few other "hidden"targets, but if you focus on the ones I mentioned, you will be fine!

I'm not sure that I can describe the spot properly, but maybe someone else knows where I'm talking about.

In one of the rooms not long before you hit the red tunnel, there is a spot where you pass through 2 archways in very quick succession, they are only about 8 feet apart. Spin the car backward and pay attention in that area; there is something you can hit from there that is worth around 200K. We turned out to "shoot at Dad" in that spot, and my 6 yo suddenly racked up 400K in two backward shots.

Also good, the BACK side of the hand of the moving robot in the first room, and the targets on the rotating band above the doorway (the ones you can see from the TTA.) Also, don't forget that the tentacles on the projected aliens in the tunnel are also worth points; I noticed that lots of people don't shoot at them.

Was just there last week and Scored well over 600k.

Robot when you first enter is a good way to get some points.
Try to hit every target on him and you get extra.

Hit the "jack in the box target" in the 2nd room.

Noticed when we were riding TTA as we were there were "hats" on top of two statues in there that spin and have "Z" spots on them. Im assuming they were active targets. I never noticed them before and would have shot at them, but seeing it from a different angle highlighted them for me.
Perhaps thye have extra score as they are hard to see/hit.

Good luck..

Thanks for the tips, it sounds like it sould work since my DH doesn't aim for specific targets like the ones mentioned.
I can't wait to see his face when I win:p

I only wish I knew what he was aiming at (accidentally, of course), but my 4yo got 999,999 last summer. We thought, what a fluke, and the next time he got over 600,000. He cleaned our clocks.

I tell my son that I know all the tricks but am afraid I won't repeat this NOV. Thanks for all the tips. I have a rep to protect!! hehehehe

Jenni

my DH aka Zurg has about 7 pages dedicated to Buzz lightyear....if you click the links at the bottom of each page you will soon get to the pages that talk about which targets are worth which points..

here is the main link..

this is too funny, I had to share. My 3 yr old was standing next to the computer when I opened your DHs website and when Buzz Lightyear spoke, she about jumped out of her shoes!! hahaha now she keeps wanting to hear his voice again, and again and again. Thanks for the site. I'll check it out Pam

I maxed out on Buzz in January about halfway through the ride and I can't figure out how I did that at all.

It was fun putting my feet up and watching my friend try to equal the feat, though.

I certainly haven't been able to repeat it.

I always get the cart with the broken gun on the Buzz ride, how else could my score always be so low? ;) :D ;)

Just so you guys know, those targets are programmable. So nothing is constant.

Previous posters on this thread, have given the best tips. For now just remember that the moving targets give you more and the "hidden" one on the backside ...
the BACK side of the hand of the moving robot in the first room, and the targets on the rotating band above the doorway that you can see from the TTA
