HI all................
I just had a wonderful few minutes, my friend had given me a bunch of clothes about 6 weeks ago all were sizes 8-10. The day I got them, none of them fit so, they have been in a pile in my closet. I really havent lost too much weight according tot he scale. As a matter of fact, I havent gotten a clippie in a while, which has frustrated me alot and I have since had a lot of screwed up days. Anyway, I am here to tell all you scale junkies...............REALLY. dont believe the scale! Myscale has been lingering around 150 for the past month and I have definitly lost weight!
Every single pair of shorts and pants my friend gave me, fit me great! none of this laying down on the bed to zipper either, I mean fit me perfectly!

Anyway, I am a perfect example of the scale not being a good tool to measure yourself. Honestly, I may not continue to weigh myself on a daily basis.

Good for you! I even threw my scale away. I'm close to my first WISH clippie, but I've lost 17 pounds and went from a 14 to a 10. If I want to weigh myself, I go to my local grocery store that has one of those big giant scales. It's amazing how liberating it was. You concentrate eating healthy, exercising and how you feel! You go girl - cyber high five!

woohoo- yahoo -
you made it into those size 8s and 10s!
you must feel great

now go out and strut your stuff - lol

I agree with you sweetie. I gave up weighing daily a long time ago. Then I finally gave up weighing myself weekly.

I will use the tape measure to record my success :)

Congratulations on fitting into those smaller sizes! That is such an accomplishment. I try not to weigh myself everyday but it's hard sometimes. I never thought I'd get caught up in that trap. I am trying to get better though.

I wish I could be like some of you guys and just give up weighing myself altogether. Maybe I'll do that when I get closer to goal but for right now I'd settle for just weighing myself on my regular weigh in day and not letting that digital monster control whether I'm going to have a good or a bad day based on whether the scale has gone up or down.

I should learn to not weigh myself. Yesterday morning I weighed 146 lbs (the lowest I've been in a few months). This morning, I was at 151:( . Go figure.

how awesome for you!!! I agree that the scale doesn't always reflect what you wear. I am going through something similar. ALthough the scale is moving ( a little slowly), my clothes are getting smaller and smaller.

Keep up the good work

The scale fluctuates daily, due to water gain and loss variations. That's why a weekly schedule is often recommended for weighing oneself.

However, you can become more fit, muscular, and toned without the scale ever changing its readout. This is because of the weight difference between fat and muscle. Muscle weighs significantly more than fat, so you can lose a lot of fat, make up for it in muscle, and still weigh the same amount. (Plus, more muscle means that you're burning more calories just by sitting still!)

Just in case anyone was wondering...the scale DOES NOT mean everything!

Congrats to all of you on your dedication!

I must confess to being an everyday scale junkie. I'm aware of the pitfalls but here's how
it's helpful to me. If I weigh-in and it's up I usually try harder that day. It usually means I've lost my focus and eaten too much of the wrong foods. So the numbers bring me back to weight awareness. Consequently I've never gotten more then 10 lbs. over my goal. Which is not to say 10 lbs. over is anything to brag about. I just think it might be worse if I didn't keep a close eye on the scale. And there's the added benefit of the excitement of seeing it go down. This is what works for me and I'm not trying to convince anyone to follow suit. I just felt like sharing. Good day to all.

I weigh once/week. I know the scale isn't the whole story - but for me it is part of it. I am well aware that I can lose a size but it won't show up on the scale for a while if I'm exercising simply because muscle weighs more than fat.

I weigh once/week and measure once/month.
