DH and I finally paid off his car!!!! We both use to gripe about how we hated his ugly car, but you know now it's paid off it magically looks good again in our eyes. Why is that? LOL We were also able to pay off $4,000 other debt. It's a good day here at our house!

Way to go!!! We are within a few months of paying off our van. It is so exciting to actually own your vehicle! Now if only we could own our house! LOL!

Congrats on paying off all of that debt!:cool1::worship: If I may be so bold to ask some advice though... My husband and I are about to pay off his motorcycle, and it seems like every time we pay off something, we want something new! How do you resist???:confused3

Woo Hoo! That's awesome! I can't wait for that day. I still have a bit to go on my 5 year loan ... I put extra towards it when I can but that's not very often.

I'm so jealous ... congrats ... doesn't it feel great when hard work like that really pays off? I'm so happy for you all!

It is easy to resist spending when you have a goal for your money. If you don't have a goal, the money will just slip through your fingers.

Once the motorcycle is paid off, continue to take that "money/payment" out and put it in a separate account. Once that account starts to grow, you will see how much extra money you will have. Or start to put that "payment" towards any extra debt you have or start an emergency fund if you don't have one.

:thumbsup2 My last van was 15 years old with no car payment. After you get used to it you don't want car payments again.

Congrats to the OP.

Congratulations! The month we finally got our car paid off I started panicking I was going to wreck it! I don't know why because I never did that before!:confused3 BTW, it never happened and has been 3 years now!

Congratulations again! What a great feeling!

.

ITA...however, when DH said 'we need another car', the sun didn't set before I got down to the dealer! I THOUGHT a new toyota would be a good thing then...

:confused3

I do love it, tho...

I have been driving a paid off car for 5 years now ;) I keep my car in good shape which helps.

We're doing Dave Ramsey to pay off my law school loans. It will be a while before those are paid off. BUT, I am getting a car once those are paid off (paid for with cash of course ;) )

Things like cars look a lot nicer when they're paid for! Congrats!

I know the feeling - We paid off our van last month - a savings of $400 per month!!! We plan to keep the van for as long as it will last!

Q: What's the best kind of vehicle to drive?
A: One that is paid off!!!
