DANG DANG DANG

I just saw on another site that the AP rates are out for when I want to go (first of December) and when I called them they said there are no more rates left for that time period and that they booked them completely out in a half an hour.... ARGH!!!!!

Do you have the Disney Club? I booked the Dream Maker (not Winter Dream Maker) package through the DC about 9 months ago. When I called yesterday for AP rates it turns out that the best rate I got was still with the Dream Maker package. (I am only staying at the All Stars so that might make a difference). If you have the DC you might want to go with that.

Check the actual Disney Resorts forum - lots of people are having better luck by calling back and getting a different rep or checking later for cancellations. Webmaster Pete even made a post about it.

Rates continue to open up all the time. Book the best cancellable room only rate you can get, then keep calling. I never consider our resort plans to be firmly made until that 5 days cancellation time passes. Just this May, we got cold feet about spending eight nights in two rooms at the All Stars since we had never done a value before. I started calling two-three weeks before our trip to try to get three nights at a moderate. I was told nothing was available over and over. I actually booked our last two nights at a moderate the day before we left for our trip. I had to give a credit card and we were already gone when the confirmation arrived. I've been told many times that AP rates were sold out and subsequently booked some. More rooms are released and people cancel the reservations they have constantly.

and couldn't get the discount. I'll keep trying, though. I got the discount from the DC, and the AP would have given me an additional 170. off the AS.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! My travel agent is not back in her office until Monday (she took the whole month of August off after becoming a grandma) so I will call her and have her call for me.. she can usually get all kinds of miracles worked!

We're still getting AP rates today. If you call and tell them you want to change an existing ressie, some agents are telling you that nothing is available. I suggest you call as though you are booking a new reservation, and see if you have any better luck. Also, be willing to look at other resorts. If one resort does not have AP rooms blocked, others might.

Good luck!

Pete
