I missed something - what is the new perk on AP's?

Actually it's only $125 off of the adult PAP. There are other varying discounts for child passes, Florida resident passes and renewals. Full details are on the member website.

The discount goes into effect on 1/2/05. Current reports indicate that DVC/WDW will permit current AP holders to upgrade to a PAP after 1/2 and get the full discount. Since the PAP is about $120 more than the AP, DVC members who are AP holders will essentially get a free upgrade to the PAP for the remaining days on their pass.

Allearsnet.com has full details on the DVC discount prices on their ticket page. Deb also has the new pricing scheme for basic park passes listed, too. That information was just published yesterday.

Can you go to the Disney Store after 1/2/05 and purchase an Annual Pass voucher and use the $100 DVC discount? Can I only purchase for DH and myself or can I purchase a discounted AP for my sister who will be travelling with us?

From what I have read so far, it appears that you can only purchase the AP and PAP for members of your family living in the same home. I understand they are requiring proof of address.

Availability: Vouchers are supposed to be available for pre-purchase from the DVC member website. Or, you can just purchase the discounted pass directly from Guest Services on-site.

Eligiblity: Immediate family IS eligible (spouse, child, in-laws, grandchildren, etc.), however there is also a residency requirement--only those living in the same household with a member are eligible. Whether you buy vouchers or on-site, when the pass is actually obtained, the DVC Member ID card must be presented along with a driver's license. My guess is that anyone who does not have a member ID card must be present with someone who does, and the addresses on driver's licenses must match.

Full details are on the DVC Member web site. The perk doesn't go into effect until 1/2/05. Some think the rules may be tweaked over time, and/or WDW CMs will not be as dilligent in verifying membership as the rules imply. We'll see...

We are going from 12/30 thru 1/5 and need new passes. What is the current word on the upgrades? We would normally buy PAPs but I would gladly buy APs and get a free upgrade on the 5th.

The DVC discount will be available on January 2, 2005. If you will need admission prior to that time, you can buy an AP and upgrade (with the discount) on Jan. 2 for a nomimal charge.
