I miss OKW

This is our home resort and we have spent many days there. However, the last few trips now we have made a concerted effort to try new DVC resorts for the variety. We love this part and each resort has something new and different to us. I am getting the urge tp go back to OKW where we have so many fond memories. Our next trip home is to BLT this Oct. We are going to try and get down next year with the intire family so the 11 month home window for all of us will be needed so we can all get to stay together in a 3 bedroom. I almost wish that was the one coming up first and not the trip to BLT which I am sure we be great...smjj

I'd like to try the other resorts as well and was wondering what it is that you like so much about OKW? I have never been there and am considering a trip there after our AKV trip.

We can relate! We love OKW and enjoy our stays there immensely. But we do like to try to experience the other DVC resorts as well.

We are staying at BLT at the end of August for 2 nights. But we are spending the bulk of our trip back at OKW. BLT looks to be fabulous and I know we will enjoy it. But OKW is our true home away from home - relaxing, laid-back and just our cup of tea!

Its just the feel. Vey laid back and relaxing. I could say the room size which is a great plus for us and the parking which is very close to your front door or Olivia's which we love. It all of the above plus the many memories we have taking our kids and grandkids down with us...smjj

Can totaly relate. We joined in 93, and except for a one night stay at the BW before the Cruise, it took us 15 years to try another resort. Gotta love OKW We are now committed to trying all the DVC resorts, but I must admit I'm a little unsure.

I feel the same way. We are staying at VWL Jan 1 to Jan 9 and I'm still not sure. I know I will miss the large rooms and the balcony at OKW, but we are giving it a try. I have to think we will be back at OKW the next year, and I know there is alot of good things about VWL. Wish me luck with VWL.

I totally understand your desire to go "home" to OKW! We have loved our stays at AKV, but everytime at least one of us says "but it's not OKW", and by that we mean the convenience and size of the unit. There is nothing like it an the rest of DVC!

I understand your feelings totally, this June DS(12) and friends wanted to attend Star War's week-end and BWV really is a good resort for this since it's so near to DHS. The kids wanted the Boardwalk etc. but my heart really belongs to OKW, so I booked 1 day at OKW to get my fix (I really wanted two but couldn't work it out) and then did the rest of the week at the Boardwalk. We had a wonderful week but I would have preferred it to be at OKW.

For our August stay, I made it clear that I was picking OKW!

The family reunions, all of the memories we've made there over the years really make it a special place!

I can relate, we take 2 - 3 trips a year and DH insist that 1 trip be at OKW. We have tried several different resorts but for us OKW feels like we're coming home
