One reason why I'm looking forward to moving back home, I can actually get decent bagels back home! I got a bagel this morning for breakfast, I asked for a sesame bagel. Apparently out here in the suburbs, a sesame bagel is a thin skinny thing with 3 sesame seeds on it. I'm sorry, but for this city girl, that just does not cut it.

Rant over, go back to your magical day :wizard:

Just ate my yummy everything bagel from Stuff a Bagel out here in the sticks. Excellent.

I used to live in NJ right outside of NYC...I moved to Nebraska when I got married and as much as I love Nebraska, let's just say they are not known for their freshly baked bagels....
When I flew home, I used to take 4/5 dozen in a carry-on with me back to NE. I wrapped them well but still had a trail of onion and garlic following me. People must have wondered, but I didn't care, I had my bagels!

Wishing for some yummy bagels for you soon!

Nothing better than an H&H bagel! I think I need to tell dh to pick some up.

I agree try getting an everything with one of each item!! Those are pathetic.

There is nothing better than an everything bagel loaded with cream cheese. Hmm, my mouth just watered. :lmao:

Good thing I work in NYC. :goodvibes

Atlanta is trying to catch up with a few Jewish bagel shops that take me back... I still miss a hot delicious NY bagel, though!

Where do you live now?
Outside of NJ & NJ, bagels are terrible.

Maybe someone will send them to ya;)

Right now, I'm in Long Island for school, I'm moving back home into the city in July. And NJ has awful bagels, even LI with their 3 sesame seeds are better than the stuff they're masquerading as bagels in NJ.

I'm actually considering going home tomorrow for a bagel.

I understand!

We moved from NJ to SC -

We miss pizza, good Italian bread, we do have a decent bagel place. One time my DH had me bring back 2 dz. everything bagels, I drove - my car smelled for weeks!

The lst. thing we eat when we go up to NJ is pizza.

I'm so glad to be living in New York. :D

Yes, posts like these always remind me of what to be grateful for. Life is in these little details.

Sorry OP, you had such an experience.  When I'm in the mood for a bagel, I, too, would not want some skinny thing with 3 sesame seeds. :( I hope they hadn't refrigerated it too. It is times like that, where I look around, expecting someone to jump up at my  expression and say, "Hey, you're on Candid Camera!" :p

Sorry you had a bad one but we have great bagels here on LI:thumbsup2
